I didn't like the call to attempt a FG, but I'll gladly eat crow there! 48-yd. FG.. 31-20!

What else would you do with 4th and 9 from the 32?

Great win. Can't wait to get to the Doyt for my first game of the year next weekend.

Great job by the coaching staff to change up the offensive strategy and run the ball. Geter was big time today.

Punt and pin them deep... if we don't make the FG, they take over at the 38-yd. line down just a touchdown... huge difference than, say, if you punt and pin them inside the 10.

REGARDLESS... HUGE WIN! Great Job BG football!!

Normally, in the MAC, that's fourth down territory -- or, in that situation, a time to punt.

Lucky for us, we've got a kicker with All-American potential.

I like the call. Last year, we punt, no question.

I don't know why you think this? Virvilo has been solid all year and has made cluth kicks. The odds of having a touchback when punting at your own 32 are about 75% so you would end up with a 12 yard net. That and our D couldn't stop them until they got inside the 5 anyway. GB made the right choice.

Not to mention long FG's have lower trajectories, and a block could have really turned the tide. Regardless of a touchback, a punt was the safe play, but I had no problem with the FG (especially after it went through! )

There were probably faults, I'm sure, but I think if we were losing games with an approach like this, some of them would be easier to swallow.

Hats off to the coaches and the players who came out and took a huge MAC East win!

Coming out party for Willie Geter?

Great to finally see a balanced gameplan. This was a big win, as we should be able to reel off a couple in a row. Awesome to see this for sure, but it is annoying that we've kept it hidden for so long.

Congrats to all involved, a big win to get the season back on track.

Just got back from Kent -- and that was a fun day =)

For those that weren't there, the FG at the end hit the crossbar and snuck over, but it was still the right call in that situation.

The running game was unstoppable, and I'm still baffled as to why we didn't see it until today. If we stay balanced, there's not a team in the MAC that can stop us. Geter and the OL looked like different players since we came out running.

Brandon coached a fantastic game. The fake FG, going for it on fourth down a couple times, the throwback pass, the on-sides kick after the penalty (even though we didn't get it), the FG at the end, the gameplan, the players were ready to play, etc. Now, we just need to see this coaching excellence every week.
