I seem to remember it's Boise State.
Boise State, Pitt, and Minnesota, those are three incredibly winable games.

I'll probably start a thread to discuss the topic, but I think we have to set the bar high for next year, I mean a BCS bowl bid. If BG goes 10-2 next year and wins the MAC, do you think Brandon should be fired? Remember what happened to Frank Solich at Nebraska. They fired Solich because he wasn't doing a good enough job...and look what happened to the Huskers.
I think Coach B has earned a 2 year extension. The 2008 team will be loaded...and I expect a MAC title. But if BG doesn't make it to a BCS bowl, he should be fired? Am I reading this correctly?
It seems to me no matter what, the man cannot win. He's damned either way!

Pitt and Minnesota I agree. But @ Boise State is an incredibly winnable game? We also play at Wyoming...who romped over Virginia this year. I think 3-1 is possible.Columbus_Zak wrote:I seem to remember it's Boise State.

Just to clarify, I did not say Brandon needs to lead us to a BCS Bowl or he should be fired. My exact words: "...if we don't follow through with an outstanding season." Outstanding being a MAC championship and NOT going 0-4 in the OOC portion of the schedule.
Two different lines there. Yes, I expect to win the MAC next year and there is no excuse if we don't. That would be cause for dismissal.
On the BCS Bowl, I was stating that I have lofty expectations for next season, up to and including a BCS Bowl bid. I will start that discussion in a new thread.
The 2008 out of conference schedule (as it stands now
) is Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Wyoming and Boise State.

Pitt is going to be VERY tough next year for us. Plus, they have an amazing running back, and we have serious problems stopping the run much of the time. Pitt is also a very young team with a lot of talent.
I'm also not sure I would classify Boise as very winnable. We can win, but we'll have to play awfully well.
We should definitely beat Minny at home.
I guess I don't have BCS expectations for next year. I would just like to win the MAC.

I think Miami may be returning even more talent.hammb wrote:We return a LOT of talent next year, and anything less than a MAC Championship is unacceptable.
(And we saw how that went last time).
It is reasonable to expect the Falcons to improve next year. But Miami could be a bit of a hump.
At least we'll have 'em at our place.

Uh, yeah, Boise State is going to be TOUGH. It's bullshit that we have to go out there again this year, they should be coming here. But anyway, doesn't BSU have the nation's longest home winning streak or something along those lines? I'm not sure I see us coming out of there with a victory.
Pitt though, that's about a 50/50 shot, Minny and Wyoming should be wins.
Inside conference, who knows what the heck's going to happen. I would assume Miami will be tough, but the rest of the division will likely be a big grab bag of inconsistency. Hopefully Northern Illinois will be the 4th home game in conference for us, we haven't played them once since I've been at BGSU, the only MAC team we haven't played since 2005. That would be great because they are in quite a down cycle.
