Carlester was a load at TE. That ECU game in 1992 is one of my all time favorite games at DLP. IIRC, ECU travelled pretty well to that game. ECU ois the kind of program we should try to schedule more frequently.

I also went to the George Bush train rally...I knew he was a goner after that. He barely drew anyone to a Wood COunty rally and the folks that were there had zero enthusiasm.

Noel...I don't recall what band he went after that day, but I do remember Ice T catching a lot of flack for "Cop Killer" back then...

ECU has begun putting together a strong future OOC schedule.

2008
VT (to be played in Charlotte)
WVU
UVA
@NC STATE

Skip will have his work cut out on that kind of schedule.....over the next 8 years we have VT, WVU, NAVY, UVA, UNC, NC STATE, and SOUTH CAROLINA lined up. VT agreed to play us 9 straight times.
We decide to create our own BCS conference.

He mentioned something about "going after the U2 vote" I believe a reference to Bill Clinton's appearance on MTV. The audio and video clip made it on a U2 video with Wood County Republican Chairman Michael Marsh clearly visible standing behind the Prez.

I also remember the complete shock when the secret service confiscated our Clinton/Gore signs at the door. Our quick protestations about first ammendment rights fell on deaf ears with transmitters in them. Could have been my first of many "argue with authority figures that could end up turning bad" moments .

Virginia Tech, West Virginia, AND Virginia next year?! Wow. That sounds pretty rough. Perhaps a better question is how did you AD manage to schedule WV and UVA at home in the same season. That'd be like us getting MSU and Purdon't at DLP next year.

Oh yeah...I think U2 was calling the White House switchboard live during every stop of their "ZooTV" ( I think that's what it was called tour) back then. You definitely do not mess with earpiece guys. I was talking to a campus cop back in 1984 when Reagan visited. He sadi the President's detail were good guys but the locals were told not to bother the people directly guarding the President and the people in charge of the dogs.

Sorry, I made a misprint. The UVA game is an away game. VT game is considered a home game although being played in Charlotte. VT wants the exposure in that area. South Carolina will play a game there too.
The Panther Stadium holds 70,000.

Political pop culture trivia- what band's music video did George Herbert Walker Joyner Kersey Bush make while making a negative comment about them while in BG?
I remember sprinting to the RR tracks after the game. Still had my uni on.

I was in my drum major outfit, but the SS didn't give me a second glance. I guess the uniform intimadated them.

I was there because I wanted to listen to the president speak. Unfortunately, I was standing next to the peanut gallery who didn't. :x

also on the 92 ECU team.

also on the 1992 ECU Coach Staff was one Bob Babich - who was the LB coach at BGSU in 1991 (coached a RedShirt frosh named Vince Palko - who became the all-time great LB for the Falcs).

Babich was only @ BG the one year (stepping stone) - you may see his name now as the Defensive Coordinator for the Chicago Bears/coaching LB Brian Urlacher.

We THUMPED the Pirates that day - was one of the most fun games I ever played in!

To extend the Bob Babich theme his daughter was a co-captain on the BGSU women's soccer team last year.

it all comes full circle doesn't it? She quit the team for some reason with eligibility left though.
