My feelings exactly. I always thought it was ridiculous that we wern't getting some top notch wr talent with the way our offense is over the years. Maybe this kid can come in and give us that tall deep threat we need.Falconfreak90 wrote:Joe,
Excellent read on Jenkins! Man, that gave me goosebumps reading about him. This is simply awesome to read...
There was no temptation when Purdue came calling. Or Illinois. Or even Nebraska.
West Side senior DeMark Jenkins had committed to Bowling Green, and he was going to stay committed to Bowling Green -- no matter who started recruiting him after his Dec. 8 decision.
"I wasn't going to decommit," Jenkins said. "No way."
I LOVE that. And that fact he wants to play baseball as well is great...fastball in the low 90's.This is where BG and other mid majors have a huge advantage over the BCS boys. They don't want these kids playing anything else but one sport. Heck if the kid wants to play both and can do it, let him! BG baseball is important, too!

If you're not willing to disclose whatever "information" you have, why make vague statements like this about the kid? FWIW, I don't know if you're talking about good or bad things, but this kind of thing just seems unfair to the player. Not trying to call you out, but I thought I'd point it out before some sort of firestorm starts around here.Globetrotter wrote:Theres a reason he wasn't recruited highly or given a schollie.
Theres also a reason that he was given Mr. Football.
If ever there was a wildcard he is it.
That said, this is great news! I wonder, how many Ohio Mr. Football players have we had at BG before?
I forgot to mention, I watched several of Mentor's games this year on STO, and I was always impressed with Bart's ability to read defenses. As I recall, he moves very, very well in the pocket, and he will come in already knowing our offensive system. I swear, there were times I could have sworn that Coach Brandon had written Mentor's playbook last year. The more I think about Bart coming in, the more I'm excited to see what he can do!

Holy overreaction. It seems you're the one itchin' for a firestorm.Bleeding Orange wrote:If you're not willing to disclose whatever "information" you have, why make vague statements like this about the kid? I interpreted Globetrotter's comment to mean that he put up big high school numbers, but recruiters may not have seen much potential for the kid in college.

Jeez people. My bad. I guess I wasn't thinking about it that way because I figured that a Mentor QB wouldn't be overlooked in the recruiting process. I wasn't trying to overreact to anything.Globetrotter wrote:Ha, no $s**t, crazy man. Conspiracy theorist.jacojdm wrote:Holy overreaction. Great news! I like the sounds of this kid coming to BG.Warthog wrote:http://www.cleveland.com/hsfootball/pla ... xml&coll=2
Tanski did not receive any scholarship offers, but will walk-on at BG.
Question, this is the third recruit that I have seen say they are going to study Engineering. When did BG start an engineering program?
GO BG!!!
