you can make excuses all day but in the end we lost. You get once chance to prove your the better team and we did not prove that.

NIU fans appreciate the support.
But in many ways NIU could have helped themselves.

-Last second field goal at winless UCF.
-OT to 2-9 Ball State.
-Interception Party at Iowa State.
-Mismanagement of the clock at Maryland.
-The loss to Toledo AGAIN at home.

In NIU's favor, the fan support was great by MAC standards.
NIU beat a very good BGSU team.
NIU had only one conference loss.

Here is what hurts.

NIU fans will always wonder what could have been if Wolfe would have played in the Toledo game. Surely the tired and inconsistent NIU defense would have spent less time on the field.

Whatever happens enjoy your bowl without guilt.

I personally look forward to seeing Jacobs again and Cole Magner one last time.

If you Rockettes don't think you guys got lucky during that game, then you're the ones who are dillusional. I don't think you've taken into account the fact that Omar Jacobs threw 34 for 60 for FOUR HUNDRED-SEVENTEEN YARDS. If he had not had an off-game (and yes, that was an off game for OJ!) you guys could have put up 60 and you still wouldn't have beaten us.

Your defense in the first half looked just as miserable as ours in the second, and if Omar had his A game in the second half, you guys would have been toast. But, he is a sophomore, so I guess 417 yards passing is acceptable...

Don't kid yourselves, boys. You lucked out. We are a more talented offensive team and our defenses are about equal (with our numbers a bit better). Our NIU loss came at a very tough time for our program and you guys got lucky. So, do I believe that we are the best team in the west? If you guys were a defensive powerhouse I would say no, but you aren't, so yes, yes we are.

NIU is a better team as well, but back to the original point of this thread, I am beginning to believe that they are cursed. I'm still pullin' for you Huskies.

Try not to turn the ball over four times against Miami Thursday, guys...

so by your own reasoning BG got lucky that we played crappy first half... works both ways

Yes, I also would like to thank all of the Bowing Green fans for your support as we go through these... rough times... hearing that Marshall got a bid to the fort worth bowl over us and us not getting to the GMAC just pissed me off. I can't really describe how pissed I was. I don't want to go to the Silicon Valley Bowl... that place stinx and we are going to get killed... Will be an embarassment... There are still a few other bowls that would make me real happy to be in though, more happy than GMAC but I dont know if we will get them, but there is chance everywhere I read it says so... Im hopin that the Music City bowl wants us thats where I wanna go!

But anyway, ya we brought it to ourselves. Like u said, our defense is extremely inconsistantly bad and very easily tired. Josh Haldi also very VERY inconsistant, he plays so bad under pressure... And then Garrett Wolfe not starting in that game, and did u ever know if he actually got into a fight or if that story was just a little cover up? I dont know what to believe..

BUT!!!!

THANK YOU BOWLING GREEN!!!!

I used to not like u guys because I really don't know but after coming here, I will be supporting you guys also, thanks so much!

RED AND BLACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bleeding Orange,
You are so right! Loved that post.
I hate Toledo! (I thought for a milliseconds about going to grad school there since it's close to work. God help me that everything works out with an assistantship at BG.) A week since the game and you retards are still hanging around, get a life! We don't need anymore calisooners.

ERRRRRRR:!: :!: :!:

KDog,
A little quote from a good movie to cheer you up:

"Hey Mr. Grumpy Gills. When life gets you down do you wanna know what you gotta do? Just keep swimming, just keep swimming. What do we do we swim, swim."

Need a little more BG spirit from ya. Just keep believing!

Dude,

Off game or not, the only games that matter are the games where you play for championships. Big deal that you have a good offense against mediocre or bad teams. Big deal that you, "think" BGSU is the better program. The fact of the matter is that you MUST win games that win you championships and give you national exposure (against ranked teams). BGSU cannot do it. Period.

You'll be back to 2-9 like in 2000 very soon.

So how did you enjoy last season?

That was a once-in-a-generation low for our program.

Enjoy Connecticut.

National exposure? we've been ranked for portions of the last three season in both polls. We finished in the top 25 last year. (when was th elast time UT was in the top 25?) We've been on national TV something like 10 times over the past two seasons. The most attractive bowl on the board for MAC teams, the GMAC, made us the first MAC team to secure a bowl bid this year.

We've had more national exposure than anyone this side of Paris Hilton

Uhhhh, take a jacket. A heavy jacket. It's not as warm as you might think. :)

Actually NIU might end up with a better deal. If they go to the Independence Bowl, they play at a later date and against a Big XII opponent. Another chance to knock off a 'major conference' school on national TV.

Good luck Huskies, wherever you end up.
