You can wash it down with a few Yuenglings or Penn Pilsner.BGTIMMY wrote:THANKS A GREAT DEAL FOR THE LOW DOWN ON MY QUEST FOR THE ULTIMATE PITTSBURGH 'WICH' TIZ. THE BUDS ARE GOING ALREADY![]()
There is also Iron City, but it is not one of my favorites.
Re: PRIMANTI SANDWICH...
There is one in Oakland near campus also, if you are going to be that way.BGTIMMY wrote:THANKS A GREAT DEAL FOR THE LOW DOWN ON MY QUEST FOR THE ULTIMATE PITTSBURGH 'WICH' TIZ. THE BUDS ARE GOING ALREADY![]()
Might I suggest Thursday night as a possiblity? No Pirates home game that night. And a lot of schools jump the gun on the holiday weekend and play Thursday night.Dayons_Den wrote:Actually, there isn't an "only way" there are two plausible options and a few silly options available to the decision makers:PITTMAN wrote:If you played a night game, you would run into the same problem as we did w/ the 12p start.. Pirate game starts at 4, with their pitching, the games take forever, (get out of there maybe 6:30-7); have people get to their cars and actually leave would be closer to 7:30; one half of a hour before kickoff...
The only way is if the game is played at 9pm Saturday, Sunday night (Pirates play at 1:35 Sunday) or, hell, even Monday (Holiday)... At this point, I have no idea, but if the Pirate time sticks, prepare for our kickoff time to change...
If the time changes. . .
plausible options
+11am kickoff to accommodate the parking lots
+9pm kickoff ditto above
and now the silly options:
+Sunday night kickoff which would hinder BG's game week prep
+Monday ("it is a holiday") which BG would be batsh!t crazy to agree to unless Pitt paid for a remodeling of The Doyt since we have our home opener which IS scheduled for 7:30pm the following Saturday
+Move the game to BG

Thursday night has been granted access to the 'plausible' options.Warthog wrote:Might I suggest Thursday night as a possiblity? No Pirates home game that night. Also, playing on the moon and having a hot dog eating contest between the cheerleading squads have been added to the 'silly' options.

There is one inside of Heinz field, actually right beside the visitors section... There is one in Market Square (Downtown); Cherry Way (Downtown); on the Southside (the street full of bars); Strip District (Original); and in Oakland (right across from Pitt's law school)... These ones only serve sandwiches/fries etc., but you shouldn't want anything else anyway... Make sure you ask for them to put an egg on it...
Market square is probably the closest one outside of the stadium... I also recommend getting everything on it; you don't want to be "that" person who doesn't want the toppings... Chances are they'd ignore you anyway and put them on...

Vandy @ Miami is the only game ESPN is showing that night and it is ESPNU. I can't see them moving it to a Thur. after people have bought tickets and made hotel reservations for the weekend....then again they might move it to Sunday...ugh what a mess.Warthog wrote:Might I suggest Thursday night as a possiblity? Pitt game start time
In response to the post on the start time of the Pitt game on the 30th, I work at Fox in Toledo and receive the game assignments for the Fox MLB games and the schedules. There is no Pittsburgh Pirate game on the schedule for Fox on Sat. August 30th as of today. Fox has been changing some of their coverage, but I have received nothing to date that has added a Pirates game on the 30th.
I will post if I get an update from Fox regarding anything different.

Even if it is just a regional FOX broadcast, it doesn't change the fact the game will start at 3:55

Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like order on Pittsburgh's North Shore has been restored... The Pirate game is now listed at its ORIGINAL start time, 7:05... Fox picked a real bad time to become a Brewers fan..

I don't know, didn't think to ask. I ordered through BG, so I *hope* the BG section is the one where they sat me. I used a pseudonym so they didn't stick me in the corner of the upper deck.Warthog wrote:What section(s) is the BG section(s)?TG1996 wrote: tickets ordered... see you by the rivers!!!
