HUH? How can you mention pizza in Bowling Green without mentioning Myles??

Best pizza on earth.

The University itself was established in 1910 as a teacher training college. Its original administration started the groundwork for a full University from the start. It became a state college in 1928 and a full University in 1932. I could be off a few years on those numbers, but in either case, it was before our "rival" in Little Detroit was recognized as such.
Interesting. The University of Memphis was founded in 1910 as West Tennessee Normal School, a teacher training college.

Before today all I knew about Ohio was that I had a friend that went to Ohio U and was from Upper Arlington...

I guess our schools are similar in nature...We were founded as a teacher college, we also a large commuter population...Cool.

Bowling Green is more of a residential university. There are folks that commute in from Toledo and the farm towns around Bowling Green... but the vast majority of students live either on campus or in the student neighborhoods of Bowling Green.

OHHHhhhhhhh......Aaahhhhhhh........

I LOVE Bennigan's, and their Monte Cristo is quite phenomenal.

I've always been curious as to why BG has flat out refused to build real restraunts/stores here, along the lines of Chili's, Friday's, Bennigan's, Chipotle, Gap, Eddie Bauer, etc. If the reason they won't allow them to build here is because they are afraid of losing business, consider that "residents" of BG leave the town and spend their money elsewhere anyway because they refuse to put anything in. If they put national stores in, the local stores may lose money, but outsiders might actually consider coming to BG to spend money, in addition to the College kids that don't want to drive to Toledo to buy a sweater.
