I still think Detroit is a the pitt of a city. They have the symphony which is world class. An excellent museum. They have casinos. They have a nice set of stadiums and decent pro sports. The problem is everything else around it and the self defeating political types more interested in having control of the city, than helping it. To me, Toledo reflects the worst aspects of Detroit in many ways. I don't consider Detroit a "world class" city at all, nor does the rest of the world I suspect. It is the place everybody hopes their city doesn't become, positive aspects aside.
I might mix up my use of Little Detroit, but I'm not going to stop using the description. It fits. Like Toledo itself, some folks do well there and gain something from it. But it doesn't change the nature of the beast.
Granted even the city of Toledo might not deserve to be compared directly to Detroit.
Isn't there a MAC game tonight?
