Congrats from a Boise State Fan

Post by OrangeDeath »

Always nice to see one of us knock off a BCS team.

Looking forward to playing you guys in two weeks in Boise. I think we will have a real challenge with your team.

How many fans will you guys travel?

I'm not sure we will travel to well out West. It would be amazing to make it to Boise, especially with goofyeuph living out there, but with school being in session, and gas prices, I doubt I will make it. Its a long ways, but who knows, sometimes miracles happen.

BTW, two years ago on New Years, was a fantastic night for us 'little schools' everywhere. I let the Brown loyalty go for one night and bled Orange and BLUE while you stuck it to OU!

Yes, living around Twin Falls, my gf (fellow Falcon Alum) and I will be at the Boise game. We're both looking forward to it. You should be able to find me prior to the game tailgating. I'll be the yahoo grilling some of Niz's Red Burgers, drinking beer, and blaring the Falcon Marching Band at permanent hearing loss levels. All while sporting as much Burnt Orange and Seal Brown as I can.

Aside from the two of us, and the few other total die hard Falcon fans, plus the small smattering of us in the area, I'm not expecting a huge showing for the BSU game. We also have a big road trip two weeks after Boise to Wyoming. I know that a lot of the folks who normally make big road trips are planning on going to that game instead, seeings how they were at Boise a couple of years ago. I'm still hoping for a decent showing though. (if for no other reason than to have some help cheering agianst the rest of the Bronco Nation  )

Niz, you do know that all you ever have to do is give me a call and I'll meet you at the airport. I've crashed on your couch plenty, fair is fair.

This is a HUGE maybe, but it may well come true that I can help you with those red-burgers myself.

BTW, the spirit squad is now about nine members strong!

Laramie

Post by Beef Zerkie »

For those of you going to Wyoming, good luck with that. Laramie is ah, er, well NOT the pretty part of Wyoming. And not exactly a metro area either.

I am pretty sure it was picked primarily on geographic location. Middle of the state and near Colorado.

Some people say they like it their but I went through town once and there was not much to speak of. IMHO.

Best of luck in your next home game though I don't think you'll need a lot of it. I FULLY expect you to pound the Gophers.

I stopped in Laramie this summer for lunch. If you remove the desert and the mountains, it reminded me an awful lot of BG. It's a decent size town that is really dependent on the university (sound familiar?). While I don't know how the fans will treat everyone when they roll along into town, but the overall feel of the town should make everyone feel right at home.

Let me add my own congratulations for your victory.

I look forward to having your team come visit the Blue in a couple weeks, and hope that the fans that make the trip have a good time and feel welcome here. We have a history of treating visiting fans well.

Yes, nice game against Pitt. That inadvertant whistle really sucked. So do you guys think your team is better this year than in 2005 with Omar?
Verdict is still out on how good Boise is. But it is on the Blue so we have that advantage.

That 2005 team had a lot of hype, but really underachieved. The 2005 team would have folded up the tent after going down 14-0 to Pitt, much like they did at Boise. This team came back and outscored Pitt 27-3 the rest of the way, so I think they are a better team. More talented? Not so sure.
