Also the last few drives BG was running out the clock and taking a knee which resulted in the yards per carry looking worse than it was.The Niz wrote:mmisbg wrote:Anybody who knows me knows that I am usually nuts about BG football. How could you not be excited for the TEAM? The on-the-field happenings are VERY exciting. You need to find a way to get pumped about the things this team is doing ON the field...go ahead and be disappointed by the OFF the field actions. I am too...but I won't let those incidents sour my craving for some good Falcon Football!
It's a combination of the off the field issues, losing games they shouldn't lose, another MAC championship letdown, and our lack of rushing stats.
I will admit, I had a last minute issue come up, and couldn't watch the game last Saturday. However, when I checked the stats, my first reaction was that our running game is not going to cut it against Minnesota.
I'm sure that all of it will melt away the second that I park my car in BG this Saturday, but for the moment I'm struggling to get pumped.
Yards per carry would have been a much more important stat than total yards. Much like last year, there were very few running plays and tons of short pass plays. The good news is the freshman all american Bullock is back in the starting slot. We all know what he accomplished two years ago and the O line looks big and strong enough to help him reach the same level if he gets a few more touches.
And yet another player in trouble with the law...

I don't really understand that. We just knocked off a top-25 ranked team in their house, we have a Big Ten team coming to the Doyt in two days, and you're having a hard time getting excited about the year?mmisbg wrote:I agree that this is a small incident, but it comes at a time when I was just starting to let the other stuff go and start to take an interest in this season.
I gotta say, I'm struggling to get excited this year.
We'll wake you up in 2015, I guess.
EDIT: I didn't see your response back to Vdub's post. I think you're just a little on the pessimistic side still, that's all.

An "epidemic"?
This thing with players getting into trouble...and RIGHT BEFORE A GAME...is spreading all over. Penn State suspended 2=3 players for POT in their room...and Brady Hoke suspended his NEPHEW for this week for a DUI this past weekend. How DUMB are these kids? (And I include the "dumbness" to our players as well!)
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)
