What are your thoughts on Uh-Merrican hero Michael Phelps?
What did he do?
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Got busted for DUI a few months after the 2004 olympics. He was driving drunk... alone.

(Drunk driving really, really irritates me because it puts so many others at risk.)

Somehow NBC missed that part this time around. You'd think the "liberal media" would jump at a chance to tell a story of redemption of a kid who came from a single-parent home to regain the glory after making such a mistake.

I saw it mentioned with Bob Costas as he interviewed the coach.

Matt Lauer mentioned it one morning on TODAY while interviewing Phelps after his 8 gold performance.

Either way, I hope that he is alright. We are definitely a different team with him on the field, and he has been a model of "team first" ever since his troubles a couple of years ago. Quite frankly, he's made MACMAN look like more of an ass than usual (yeah, I haven't forgotten all of that). :-D

I am sorry he is injured, I wouldnt wish that upon anyone and truely hope he did not tear anything in his shoulder, as there are only short term fixes for that only you to play but live your life in pain....but lets not forget  he knows how treat pain...right.
Man the way you talk MACMAN i get the impression you never made a mistake got a second chance, and your making millions being a professional athlete. Bet you wouldn't say half the things on here to anyone's face. I would pay to see AT knock the crap out of you.

That would be another testimony to HIS character, and judgment..
I say again and I do say it anyones face, I dont hide behind my monitor, I am who I am. People who are killed by Drunk drivers, and those who use do not get second chances, so why should the criminal, with out real consequence for ones actions there is no reason for a person to weigh them before acting. The gross distribution of handing out 2nd chances has become the norm, not the exception. Read yourselves on here, you all think all this crap is ok. there are no accidents in life, only mistakes that could have been prevented with better judgment.
As for extreme errors in judgment, damn right Ive made them, got numerous second chances to prove it, and paid dearly for others, both of which have shaped my opinon on this.
