Props From Boise

Post by BoiseBoy »

Now that all of the dust is settled... just wanted to drop a note to say great game! Reading all of the posts here during and after the game, I almost was beginning to ask myself whether I was at the same game. A few observations from the other side of the fence:

Boise State had only three good offensive drives in the first half. Though they produced all of Boise State's points, they were all tough drives. BG made incredible half-time adjustments and shut down Boise's usually productive offense. Consider this: 254 yards on 30 plays in those 3 drives; 91 yards on 26 plays for the whole rest of the game. The last time BSU was shut out in the second half at home was in 1989! That's great defense AND great coaching!

BG entered Boise territory on 7 of its 10 possessions. A couple made field goals and a couple less mistakes (and one less questionable turnover call) and the game is yours.

Virtually ALL of the sell-out crowd (new stadium record, BTW) stayed 'til the very end of the game. Not until BG's last offensive drive ended did anyone think the game was out of reach for BG to come back. This tells me 1) all of us BSU fans who were there respected this formidable foe (and we know a little about last minute comebacks) and 2) BG had the momentum.

Here's to a BGSU conference championship! I look forward to the chance to visit "your house" in 2010!!

Cheers! :partyman:

Great post...too bad it took a Boise fan to see what happened in the game. I think maybe some of you were half listening or half watching because some "other" game was on at that time. If you saw the game on Directv and not just half listened or half watched then you came away with the things that Boiseboy stated. If you didn't see the game on TV, in person or on the internet then you have to wonder how much credibility a post can really be on this site after a game.

Homecoming only 17 days away. I think we can get our minds right by then and give the team a proper welcome back.

What "Last Minute Comebacks" does Boise know about?

Agreed. Saw the entire game on Dish Network and we were right there....yeah, I know we trailed 20-0 at the half but battled all night. Boiseboy hit it dead on. Fewer mistakes and this game is either way.

Thanks for your views, BoiseBoy, and good luck the rest of the season!

Thank you and good luck on the rest of your season. I will definitely be there when Boise "finally" comes to play on your turf... my wife is from Ohio, so just another excuse to visit family (at least that's my kitchen pass).

As a Bronco fan I would like to back up what Boiseboy posted. It's very true that BGSU was in that game the whole way. After three consecutive scoring drives like that, in the atmosphere that Bronco Stadium provides, we've seen MANY teams give up.

Your players were playing smash mouth ball for four quarters, something that we can't say about our team. It was a close game, and could have gone either way in the end.

I'm rooting for you guys from here on out, and ESPECIALLY against Toledo. One of our rivals just scraped by them in OT last night (as you probably know) and I'm hoping you blast them with a good old fashioned blow out.

Thanks for the "props" ghosttown. I really believe that our boys can run the table. Nice win over Oregon, BTW. I'll have an eye on Boise for the rest of the season as well. Can only help our cause. I wish I could have made my way up to Boise for the game, but I have a close BG bud who went up, and he had a phenomenal time. Everything I've heard is "1st class" about Boise. Keep it up. You guys truly rock. Good luck the rest of the way.

Gotta say the Boise State faithful are one of the classiest bunches I've ever seen...and they have a GREAT program out there. I was happy to see them beat Oregon Sat.
