Poorlycoachedbgsus' relevance
I know you heavy ranked falcons here are starting to realize that this team sucks. Maybe the title of the posters' name has some substance to stand by. I complained before and observed others that criticized others that are realist. Can we come to a census that our coaching sucks bad? I think we realize that our players are pretty darn good but the reason we keep losing is due to our leadership. HELLO!

I told you so!! now let the floodgates open with anti-brandon rhetoric to get rid of the clown. if you had told me that in week 8 we wouldn't have a home win and only have 1 pathetic, lucky win in the MAC i'd have laughed.buffaloefalcon wrote:I know you heavy ranked falcons here are starting to realize that this team sucks. I think somebody once mocked me when I said something about not having a coach who was committed to the program. "Why wouldn't a coach move on to a bigger program if he had some success and had some big time (money) offers."
We need to find someone who has pride in BGSU. (period) The money that we are offering is more than sufficient to find a quality coach who can build a better than average program. Open up the coach search to people who have the qualities a small school needs.

The team doesn't suck. The team beat one Top 25 team, played two others and lost three games decided by one possession. The coach doesn't suck either, and cowboyjoe has cited the numbers to prove it multiple times. There are specific deficiencies that need to be addressed, but I don't think repeating endless variations of the "suck" mantra accomplishes the goal that everyone wants: to get this team better.
On the bright side, the flavor-of-the-month coaches who presently aren't sucking (Jerry Kill, Brady Hoke and Butch Jones) will likely be hired by other programs after this year.

Not exactly...Leadership has to start with the coaching staff. This is even more important in college football. These aren't professionals but rather 18-21 year old kids. That's not saying a team doesn't need senior leadership. But if a heavily veteran team is still comitting stupid penalties on the field, having off-the-field issues and showing up late for team meetings, that's coaching pure and simple. Teams with strong coaching staffs set the tone and help avoid these issues. At BG? Not so much.BgWaRrIoR wrote:Just a thought....leadership has to come from the players!!!! Coaches coach, players lead. We have no coaching, and we have no leadership. Cant blame everything on the coaches.......

I agree. But you cannot say it is ALL on the coaching staff. Leadership is a two way street. Both players and coaches contribute to leadership. Showing up late to practice/meetings is something the coaching staff should not allow to happen BUT......it is the player(s) who are showing up late, as if they do not care at all. My point is: this is largely a problem with coaching, but (as my mom always told me when my younger bro and I got into a fight) it takes two to tango.Rollo83 wrote:Not exactly...Leadership has to start with the coaching staff.
