Have to EDIT ~ thanks Vdub disagree with you. Rivlarly games are rivalry games. When both rivals are struggling, the winner of the rivalry game can look back at the season with a certain amount of pride.

A lot is on the line Friday, IMO. Always is with this game.
Let me try to understand this 87. So if we win this game on Friday, we'll go back on it and say, "well, we sucked against lowly EMU and Miami at home and threw the season away completely in the 4th quarter against Buffalo, but hey we beat Toledo so everything's good."

I don't understand that, so I hereby agree to disagree.
24,

If the Browns/ Steelers are both horrible and the Browns beat the Steelers, is that meaningless?

As far as I'm concerned, yes, it is.

You're king for a day. I don't think it's that big of a deal, and neither does the basketball coach.

Last year after they beat Toledo Orr said if a coach tries harder to prepare for Toledo than Western Michigan then there's something wrong with him. And that it counts for one win in the standings.

I tend to agree with that. It'll be nice for the seniors to go out after beating UT twice, but winning Friday won't make me feel better about the season.

The BG/UT game is always important because I cannot stand UT and I want to beat them at every sporting event.

Sure the game doesn't have the fire it usually does, but I will still be watching it and hoping we can beat them in their own house. I really want to spoil Amstutz's last day on the sidelines.

As to anything else nothing will make this year a success. It's been brutally disappointing, to say the least. I don't think this game will have any bearing on who our head coach will be in '09, as I don't feel Brandon is gone regardless. So yeah, I'm going to root for us against UT because I hate them, and I want our dismal season to be, at the very least, better than their dismal season.

Yup.

AND, since I live 3 1/2 hours away, haven't seen a BG game since Minnesota, next September is too far away and I took a week off to see my fam for Thanksgiving, I'm going to be in the glAss Bowl screaming and shouting for a BG win.

Rarely has this game ever been so meaningless.

Rarely have I ever been more disgusted with 2 posts.
