I posted last year about Andrew Beam's commitment and thought I would update Bowling Green fans about two wide receivers from northern California I've heard are being recruited by you guys. Assistant Adam Gonzaga, who went to San Joaquin Delta, is after both.
Delta sophomore receiver Garrett Andrews was a unanimous All-Valley Conference selection this year and led the VC with 959 yards on 59 catches and 10 touchdowns. He is 6'3, 196 pounds. He is Delta's designated deep threat and has great hands. He can catch in traffic. It has been indicated to Andrews that BG is close to an offer.
The other receiver is Modesto JCs Marcus Allen. Allen was an All-Golden Gate Conference selection and had 1,131 yards receiving on 58 catches with 12 touchdowns. He is 6'0 and about 185

Karl,
Even though his status is "up in the air", as are ALL of the Assts., I'd hope we'd keep recruiting...as to getting JC - WR's, I'd hope we'd make better use of them than we did the last two. Only J. Kelley was used...and not to a great extent, until later in the season. With Marques, Corey, and Jermiah all leaving, we'll definitely need some re-inforcing at the position...and hopefully, some of the younger kids will step up...But a BIG "go to" receiver as a deep threat would be a real plus.

Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)
Yea I wasn't sure about posting this with the caoching situation. But it varies from what I've seen. Sometimes new staffs keep on old staff's recruits and sometimes the recruits never hear from the school again.
Delta was beginning to develop a nice little pipeline BG. I know Kelley did ok. Bummer if things dry up now....more to the detriment of my Delta Mustangs. It has proven tough for us to develop a consistent relationships with DI schools.

Re: Two wide receiver recruits
Both sound like solid WRs. I agree with all who posted, we're losing a bit at the WR spot, and IF the coach keeps the spread (i hope he does, just hope he knocks off that BS fake a hike and look to the sideline for the read nonsense) we'll need to keep the solid WR's abundant for the Falcons.deltaguru wrote:I posted last year about Andrew Beam's commitment and thought I would update Bowling Green fans about two wide receivers from northern California I've heard are being recruited by you guys.
