I think it is bad news too. Both Ward and Campbell recruited The State of Ohio and they did it very very well. It would differently give Toledo an advantage in that area for the next two years especially if the new HC brings his assistants to town with him.

Campbell worked the 2008 offensive line into a very cohesive unit this year. Everyone was worried before the season that the line would be the question mark. I don't think it was and Campbell was the reason. Also,he was the main recruiter for German, Robinson, Stevens and Walker - the offensive line for perhaps the next four years. It would have been nice to see what Campbell would of done with them in a 4 year period.

Ward also brought a lot of Ohio boys to BG too. I think his record as a defense coach is very very good.

Time will tell.

My problem with the credit card issue is that those players ONLY served a one game suspension. They should have been kicked off the team for what they did!! A one game suspension is a laugh and gave the message that it doesn't matter what you do, you'll still be on the team and only have to sit out one game. It's not the message that I want ANY coach giving to our team, no matter how impressive his record is or isn't. This situation bothered me MUCH more than the frustrating losses.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

And then Willie Geter fumbled twice against Minnesota. Karma bit us in the azz on that one.

If this is true, I think GC has made a BAD mistake not offering some incentive to keep these guys in BG and he better get it in gear getting a HC at BG or he will lose a complete recruiting class!
Here's The Blade story confirming this.

Can't blame them. Their futures in BG were uncertain.

Seconded. In this economy, you take what you can get, especially if you have multiple mouths to feed.

I'll agree with that. In this economy, you take a job that is offered if you are unemployed. Can't sit around waiting for something better.

No doubt. No matter how much they loved BG you still have to do what is best for your family.

It will suck seeing those guys on the Toledo sideline though.

He opted not to take it and accepted the offer to go to UT instead

No, the only crap in Wyoming is cow manure. Toledo is no jewel by any means, but I wouldn't want to live in Wyoming either.
