This upcoming football season could be a challenge for me. Sept. 3 I have a baseball game here as our season runs long this year until Sept. 7. Then we've got at Marshall and at Mizzou and we've got a "big day*" set for 10/10 which is could be a BG home game so I'm not sure when I'll be able to get back. Probably for the Toledo game but I was really hoping for a home game Sept. 12. I may have to consider a road trip to Huntington cause I'm not going to be able to go until Thanksgiving to see a game in person!!

Oh, and with the Troy game on a Thursday, it makes getting home for the opener easy.
Well, that would work for me! I'd love to see BG beat Mizzou in Columbia since we seem to play very well there.

However, Mrs. Freak has been way too understanding with me going to 9-10 (sometimes more) games a year. It wouldn't kill me to miss one game for our Anniversary.
I missed my 9th wedding anniversary for a fantasy football draft. I would strongly recommend not making the same football/anniversary mistake I did. I was lucky enough to see our 10th anniversary. (I planned the draft for the week after.) ;-)

Congrats man!

I know it helps Freak, but I would like to be the first to officially complain about starting our season on a freaking Thursday. I hate weekday games.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

honestly I think he is lying. I have heard from a couple people that work or are managers in the athletic office and was told we were asked but turned it down.
Do they know details of which bowl and when he was contacted? I just think this rumor is crap, all people are saying is that we turned downa bowl offer. And I believe GC.

I will ask when we got asked, but i was told it was the Independence Bowl.

I'm not saying it was wrong for him to turn it down if he really did, I just think if he did he needs to be honest.

That's funny! I love it. I wonder if Freak understands it though.

Well, for our 11th anniversary, I gave Mrs. Freak an all expenses paid trip to Muncie, In. It just so happened that BG was playing Ball State that weekend...imagine that. The bling bling definitely was a hit, though...and we won. :-D

And DD...CONGRATS!!!!! Awesome news!!!

fmb07, how about just giving our AD credit for answering fans questions being an open communicator and trying to move forward? Calls with bowl offers go to one person- not an intern or other type of associate- who might have told you this or that. There is a difference between a call from a bowl official looking at possibilities and an offer to play in a bowl.

The AD knows what happened and we were one of a couple 6-6 teams not asked. Think about it- we lost to the MAC team invited to the Independence Bowl head to head and we had no head coach. We weren't asked.

I'm with the other posters- let's get the season going. I am sure there will be a learning curve for all- players, coaches, fans- but I always look forward to every new season. In every sport really.

Go Falcons!

Ding Darling is the name of the Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel named after J.N. "Ding" Darling, a political cartoonist and conservationist who started the Duck Stamp Program. Guess you need to do some Sanibel research before you get here, huh??? :D You might want to become familiar with the Sanibel Stoop too--and it has nothing to do with the effects of too much partying.
