Yes the Buckeyes did choke. Yes I'm almuni from there but have been a BG local most of my live and a MAC fan. The Big Ten is down compared to the Big 12, Pac 10 and SEC. How many of you thought OSU would get beat by 2-3 touchdowns? Texas has no claim on the national title. Utah does!

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There'll be sun!
Just thinkin' about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
'Til there's none!
When I'm stuck with a day
That's gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And grin,
And say,
Oh
The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
Tïll tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow!
Tomorrow!
I love ya
Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way!

What's to argue? I don't think there are too many people here saying that the MAC is good. The MAC is crap, and has been crap for the past 4 years or so. That's what has made it even more annoying to watch us fail to even play for a title in that span.

Even when Ball State was undefeated I don't think there was anyone here saying how they deserved a BCS bid or anything. I know a few of us were hoping they'd get one, but I certainly don't think there were many people clamoring how underrated they were, or how underrated our conference is.

Our bowl record speaks for itself, but it is inflated because we now send teams that have no excuse for being in a bowl game. Still, even our top teams are not competing with the top teams from other conferences. That sucks, but what the hell do you want us to do about it?

Hopefully Clawson comes in here and puts us back to where we were when Brandon got here. If he does, we'll dominate this conference.

Yeah, blame the MAC for their being about 15-20 more bowl games than necessary.

8-3 and third place in the West is "dominating this conference"?

If he means the talent level BG had when Brandon arrived would dominate the conference in the near future I gotta say that assumes that other programs with new coaches, or old coaches for that matter, don't make the same or greater progress in attracting talent. I don't see NIU, UT or Miami staying down for long.

It's hard to win w/o a coach. This will be an on going thing in he MAC. Team wins - coaches says "Its been good knowin' ya" and doesn't show up for the bowl game. Such is life in the MAC...and it will probably always be that way. The MAC is what it is: nothing more, nothing less. Live with it because it ain't going to change.

I mean if Clawson builds a team that is as good as the '01-'04 teams it would have dominated the MAC '08. The talent level across the board in this conference is not even close to what it was 5 years ago. h2oville is right, that these other programs with new coaches could also start that rise up, and if they do then dominating the conference will be tough to do.

You could say the same thing I said about Miami, UT, or NIU for that matter as well. If any of those teams get near the level they were in '03 then they too would dominate the way this conference was in '08.

Bottom line is that the conference is in the crapper right now, but I think that is largely because what I deem the 3 best programs in the conference (Miami, BG, and UT) have all been relatively weak the last few years.

I think both Central and Ball State had very good teams this year.

I thought that as well around the middle of November but the last 6 weeks or so have changed my mind.

It could just be that they had some really good individual players.

It doesn't help when your head coach bolts before one of the biggest games in school history.
