I was looking forward to the WY game but if we can get CO in here? That's great. But I don't want to give up a home game to go on the road. We've been told for a year BG will have 6 home games this season. Make sure that happens. I love how GC insists on 6 home games whenever possible.

If you are a BCS program, and you are going to be "bought out", do you really think that you would agree to go to a different MAC school?

I'd be like... thats ok... give me my money and find me a home opponent.

Christopher seems pretty adamant that we aren't going to give up our 6th home game so if BG is to be involved in the solution to this nonsense Option QB's scenario makes the most sense.

What I read from the article is that Colorado would be willing to waive the $750,000 if a "suitable replacement game" can be arranged, i.e. playing another MAC team on ESPN, in that team's stadium. It wasn't about playing Miami for them, just about getting the ESPN coverage.

I do like GC's stance on this issue too. Good that we're willing to help out if we can, but we are not willing to give up a home game to do so. I'm sure that if we do wind up "helping out", he would make sure it was in BG's best interest to do so. Besides, if we help out here, maybe somewhere down the road the MAC is willing to scratch our backs on another issue.

Problem is, the MAC already owes us a full Asian massage.

I always thought it was the happy ending that made it "Asian".

And indeed there are ongoing disscussions between Bowling Green and Wyoming about buying out the game or finding a suitable replacement for Wyoming. My contact doesn't know the reason behind the discussions but only that she was told to hold off on arranging travel plans to Bowling Green until the situation is settled one way or another.

Yeah, it's like we're the Fredo of the MAC... "Send BG off to do this; send BG off to do that. Send BG off to play a 7th away game against some mickey mouse team from the WAC."

We're not dumb! We're smart! We can do things. And we deserve respect!

Update: FAU may be the solution to BG's scheduling woes

Post by DCPoke »

There's discussion between Wyoming, Bowling Green and the MAC offices involving Sun Belt member Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. From various sources, FAU needs to agree to a home and home with Wyoming to close the deal. No one involved is confirming or denying it. Stay tuned...

According to the BG NEWS, the official schedule has been released and BOISE STATE is coming to BG!... We also have two Thurs., and two Fri. games. ESPN strikes again...or does the MAC?
