Looking at the '09 Falcons (Houston Blog)

Post by scottandholman »

Hey guys my name is Sam and I'm a University of Houston student. I write a blog with 2 of my best friends called Scott & Holman about UH sports, college football and any topic that catches our interest.

One of our projects during the long, hot and boring Texas summer is to rank and preview all 120 Division 1-FBS football teams. BGSU was one of the teams we featured in our most recent write-up, so I figured I'd share with you guys:

Getting to know the Falcons

Let us know what you think (positive or negative) or if we made any mistakes worth noting.

Thanks and good luck this coming year.

I like it. A little proofreading needed, but overall I like it.

The rankings aren't terribly scientific, but I gave BGSU some credit for the difficult schedule.

I would never describe Willie Geter (5' 8", 170lbs.) as a "big back". Geter and Bullock will be challenging for playing time at running back but they are two very different backs. Geter is more of a scat back and can catch the ball out of the backfield and slot better than Bullock who is more of a straight ahead runner.

I applaud your undertaking, and will be visiting the other teams' sites in your write up.

Phil Steele messed up and listed the 2 backs as the same weight.

That's my bad though and should have noticed that.

Admittedly coming into this preview I only knew a few things about BGSU. So I apologize for my inexperience.

No apologies needed. You've got something cool going on there. And besides, I couldn't name half that amount of info if it were on Houston - I'd mainly talk about Kevin Sumlin's success in his first year and how every Houston QB will be compared to Kevin Kolb ... and that's about all I've got without consulting Mr. Steele!
