Anybody besides me find Brandon's curre ... od start.
Before he accepted the BG job, DC was a popular candidate for OC at UVa since he is well-respected in VA coaching circles for what he did at Richmond. I'm willing to bet he wasn't interested though for the exact reason mentioned above. He didn't want to be in the same situation as he was at UT.

He was expecting only William to show up, but when Mary got there at game time, he couldn't make the adjustments.KeyWestParrot wrote:The powerhouse football program of William & Mary shut down Virginia's new spread offense, under the direction of Gregg Brandon, today 26-14. A lot of UVA fans are giving GB a pass because Groh has this thing about taking control and calling the plays himself (Which he did with our past two OC's quite a bit)...I was blessed in that I didn't see the game (Went to the Bama game instead...much fun) but from what I read, many were pissed about lining up in the shotgun on 4th and 1, that seemed like a GB call to me. I'll be at the TCU game this weekend, should be interesting going up against a good defense.
But man Bama was fun and those SEC chicks are fine...
on a separate note, how bout Cincy! anyone else think that was a joke that they were a 6 pt dog?

Clawson was a 2-time national coach of the year and won 3 conference championships. To date, Gregg Brandon has never won a conference championship as either a head coach or coordinator of any kind.
More importantly:
Bowling Green 1-0
Virginia 0-1
Gregg Brandon is gone. He was fired for lack of progress and alienating a lot of alumni and program supporters including the creator of this board. I don't wish Brandon any amount of luck in any future endeavor but also feel me talking about him is a detriment to the positive energy we got rolling right now. The Gregg Brandon era of football is over. He's worse than Urban Meyer and should never be spoke of again. I pitch my full support behind Coach Clawson and promise to never talk about the one guy again.

Re: Brandon
All true, Cowboy. I was a supporter of GB. My biggest regret from his era was ONE MAC title game appearance. The bowl games, rankings and wins over BCS schools were great but we only played for one MAC title in his 6 years....and clearly we could have, make that should have, played in at least 3.cowboyjoe wrote:Yes indeed and at the end of the day....

I wish GB well...he is a good man. But Coach Clawson, like others have said, has my support 110%. So far, I love what I see outta The Claw and his staff.
