Where I whiffed about BGSU:
- I did not expect the BG running game to be as productive as it was. Last week you didn't have a lot of production there and we shut down the Illinois running game. Geter turned out to be a lot more effecive that I expected.
- I didn't expecte BGSU to get much pressure rushing 4 against a solid and experienced O-line. Not only did you get pressure, but you forced some penalties and a turnover with this pressure.
- Gabbert still has a lot of potential, but the Illinois game had me expecting more of him than I probably should. He made several bad reads and threw the ball into traffic and generally looked like he was out of his comfort zone - especially in the first half
- In general, I dicounted the lack of experience too much based on the results of the Illinois game. There were a number of rookie mistakes tonight and it could have really bit us
- I expected BG to be a good team with a solid game plan and aside from the 2 points I mentioned above, they were about what I expected
- I also expected depth to play a part in a 2nd half Tiger run. I didn't know the run would be a comeback, but I got really comfortable tonight once the game was tied.
