You guys played a hell of a game, and really confused the heck out of our offense for a good while tonight. My gosh you guys have some good athletes in that secondary! I really liked Geter as well...very nice back. Mizzou is a young team, and seemed to really have some jitters out there playing in front of such a huge revved up crowd, but no excuses. You guys tooked the fight to them and forced them to respond.

Anyway, I just wanted to say good game...y'all were a worthy foe tonight. Best of luck to you guys down the road this year...I hope you win the MAC and we get to see you playing sometime during bowl season!
+1

I was VERY impressed...you guys are legit!
I have to agree. Great showing by you guys. You had our offense out of rhythm and the two turnovers we had translated into 6 points for you. Thankfully not 14. But as I expected we wore you down in the 2nd half, and well the rest is history. Good luck the rest of the year.

First off, thanks Grant for approving my request to post on your board. I normally go read the opponents' board just to get an idea of what the other side is thinking about the upcoming game....sometimes it can turn pretty ugly when the opposition (in this case Mizzou fans) starts posting on a team's board...stayed pretty respectful this time. Looks like you have a good group of fans.

As for yesterday's game, hope those of you who went, were treated respectfully and had a good time (I know you had a good time for the first 2 1/2 quarters).

The Falcons were impressive and Mizzou not so much, but I give most of that credit to your players and coaching staff. You had our young QB rattled for much of the game....fortunately for us, he stepped up in the second half.

Very impressive effort by the Falcons.

Good luck the remainder of the season!!!!

All I have to say is B!G ups to the Mizzou fans fro showing some serious sportanship here in the ziggy! Once BG student now CSU student and I can tell you that in comparison to what I experienced in our win at Folsom Field in Boulder, you guys are a class act! Not to mention that our fans there in Bowling Green are the BEST! We always welcome the competition with open arms (but welcome a potential Ar$$ whooping on the field). This is how it's supposed to be done in sports and I have nothing but accolades for what was witnessed from the Tigers and the Falcons! Great game play, great sportsmanship from the FANS and ATHLETES!

GO BGSU!
GO RAMS!

Just got back from Mizzou. Most of the Mizzou fans were incredibly nice. Lots of "Hope you enjoy your stay"s and "You guys are putting up a heck of a fight!". Really friendly city!

There were a few plays where we just didn't capitalize on great opportunities. That pretty much accounts for the loss IMO. We had the door shut, we just forgot to lock it in time. Regardless, a great showing by the Falcons.

On another note: Brandt Crocker (the voice of DCI: AKA the voice of God in the marching world) announces for the Mizzou Marching Band. That was really fun to hear!

I was a TA with the Mizzou Marching Band last year, and if I recall correctly, Brandt Crocker drives to every Mizzou home game from Iowa (not sure where exactly in Iowa) just to be the voice of Marching Mizzou. I didn't realize until halfway through last season that he was the same guy that did DCI. Very nice guy too.

Still disappointed I couldn't go to the game last night. I only live an hour away from Columbia now, but I had a parade with my high school band an hour and a half after kickoff. I was getting text updates from several people and didn't get to listen to the game on the radio until the 4th quarter. It was certainly a hard fought loss by the Falcons. I just wish I could have been there to cheer them on!

Just back from Columbia. What a great football town! I'll second the fans being friendly and appreciative of us BG fans. The biggest questions we got was "Where is BG?". Great stadium and atmosphere. BG came out and made some 65,000 fans really quiet for 3 quarters. We had a couple of "mis-fortunes" with the officials early on which caused Coach Claw come unglued. First on a deep pass down the BG sideline, the Mizzou defender was beaten and falling down reached out and slapped the BG receiver causing him to trip. Obviously PI but no call. The second blatant miss was a no call on a delay of game. The clock did hit zero and then the play started. I watched the official start for his flag but then let the play call. Coach was livid about this and he had every right to be.

BG had a great game plan early on but I was surprised that we didn't go to the tight end(s) at all nor did we after the no call on the long pass, try stretching the field again. We did show an improved running game last night and this looks very promising for the season. The MIzzou defensive front was fast and strong and overall we did a pretty good job. To be sure we were well prepped for the game.

Our guys were making play throughout the game. The turnovers were huge in silencing the crowd but to get only field goals vs. TD's spells the difference. But major props to our kicking and punting game! Perfect on field goals and PAT's and no returns on punts. Tough to lose this one to be sure but to know that we can play with anyone, anywhere, bodes well for BG.

Thanks to all of the folks at Mizzou who shared their tailgates with us and stories. Great time!

The Mizzou announcer would call out on first downs, "First down M-I-Z!" and the crowd erupts, "Z-O-U!" We could "borrow" this idea and have our announcer call out "First down B-G" and the crowd answer, "S-U!" (Of course we could always go with the Full Pull thing I suppose...)

Just wanted to stop by and share my thoughts as a Tiger fan with the BGSU fans on your board.

First of all I'd like to say that I gained a ton of respect for the Bowling Green program after Saturday's game. I live about 5 hours away from Columbia so I usually make the trip 2-3 times a year to watch my Tigers play at home. Even before I decided to go to this game I knew that this game was not going to be an easy one for us to win. Like everyone else I watched the Illinois game and I was impressed by how well we played against them. I also knew that Illinois was poorly coached and that had a pretty big impact on how well we beat them.

When I saw the line for this game my first thought was ... I really don't see us beating BG by 3 TDs considering how well your QB played in the last game. When I came to my final prediction of how the game should pan out I was thinking we were going to win by 13 points. At this point we aren't the really high scoring team we have been the last couple of years. What I couldn't have predicted is how well BG was going to be at rattling Blaine and taking him out of his game. For the better part of 3 quarters that is exactly what you guys did. You could sense getting late into the 3rd that your defense was getting pretty tired and that is what ultimately allowed Mizzou to go ahead and take the lead. It wasn't so much that we just suddenly became alive on offense.

To come into Columbia and hold our offense for that long of period of time is impressive no matter what team it is. I looked through your schedule and I would have no problem believing that you could legitimately get through the rest of the season with maybe only 1 more loss. Boise is a tough team as well, but you are playing at your place so I hope you give them everything you gave us and more. Don't hang your heads on this one, it could have gone either way. I didn't get a chance to talk to any BGSU fans at the game, but I did see a few of them hanging out at some MU tailgates so I would guess your fans were respectful and our fans were happy to share the space. I can't remember the last time Faurot was so quiet, even after taking the lead. Normally after a TD and the M-I-Z-Z-O-U chant begins it is so loud it makes your ears ring, in this game even that was not the case. I am one MU fan that will be rooting on the Falcons for the rest of your season.
