When does construction start on the SAC? Is it supposed to be completed by the start of the 2005 season????

It will not be ready for the 2005 season, maybe for the 2006 season, maybe.

Nathan's correct about completion in 2006 (cross your fingers). I think they are supposed to start construction this January.

Here's the SEBO Center write-up.

If anyone in the BG area notices when they actually start breaking ground for the SAC, let us know. Also, any pictures of this happening would be great!

You'll know when it happens. The university will have a ceremony and it will make news.

So that means we won't have any endzone seating for next season, right? That is unless they decide to move the kiddie toys and the Falcon Club tent. Will the band move back to the west side stands? I thought it was a great change having them in the endzone. Sound wasn't being beamed straight across the field away from the bulk of our fans.

Don't get your shorts in an uproar -- it's going to be quite a while before ground is broken. There's an architect's rendering being shown but the actual drawings and designs used for construction are far from completed. At best this will be ready for the 2007 Spring game and I think that's very optimistic.

Meanwhile, send in your cash contributions -- several million dollars remain to be raised. :D

Shouldn't the Athletic Department contact you, and not you contacting the athletic department when sending in a donation. Also according the athletic website, it says it should be done by 2006. What gives?

If the SAC is not completed by 2006, the large Sebo donation will go away. The Sebo's wanted to insure that the SAC would be completed in a timely fashion and their donation would not sit until, say, 2100. The caveat for the donation was for the building to be completed by 2006.
