Recruiting--Reading Between the Lines

Post by Salsa »

If that Colorado newspaper report is correct, the one saying Coach Brandon has been in Houston visiting his old friends Mike Price and Gary Barnett whose teams are meeting in the Houston Bowl, I think we can read between the lines.

One thing I'm "reading" is that our recruiting must indeed be in good shape. If there were lots of work yet to be done, I don't think Coach would be out traveling around for fun.

Salsa, who says he's not out there for recruiting purposes? As I recall, one of the reasons we dumped Auburn for Oklahoma was to help our recruiting cause in the Texas area. Maybe Coach B is sealing the deal on the next Charles Sharon and/or Cole Magner as we speak. :D

Very "optimistic" take on each of your reading between the lines. . .

Call me a bit of a pessimist or maybe a been burned before kind of guy, cause I would read something else between those lines. . .

I wouldn't read much into that. The NCAA mandated "dead period " (no contact with recruits) runs until Jan 01, 2005.

Sure Flipper, take the wind out my sails! Image

What kind of fun is a message board if we can fill it with wild, unsubstantiated rumors? :?:

Maybe Brandon is just hangin out with old friends at a bowl game...who knows?

When I see a press conference with Coach Brandon announcing his departure, I'll believe he's leaving.

I think what we all missed "between the lines" is that Brandon just really wanted some good tex-mex food and needed a way to write it off has a business expense.
