Most heartbreaking BG loss for me, even tops fat punter game
Re: Most heartbreaking BG loss for me, even tops fat punter game
That '05 game is probably most remembered for me as being the coldest game I've ever been to. I got absolutely trashed before that game and still felt frozen to the core. It took 3-4 hours of being inside to finally warm up.

I don't know...Urban's last game at Toledo was a cold one. I remember my legs and feet literally hurt walking back to my car, and I was bundled up pretty good.BGDrew wrote:That '05 game is probably most remembered for me as being the coldest game I've ever been to. Win and we play for the title...goes into 2 OT's and Gradkowski hit that BiG TE...Hopkins or Jones? And they win 44-41. Losing like that and to those scumbag rockets at the same time was not fun.
Losing to Ohio State in 2003...we were reallllllllllllly close to pulling that one off. Would have been huge...
The 82 Cal Bowl was pretty bad, too. '94 CMU game.
Agreed, that loss to Toledo was a very tough one too. I think what made this one so tough wasn't so much the game itself, it was more "how" we lost and not "that" we lost.
I went back and watched the last four plays of Idaho's final drive, and without naming names, one of our DB's must have had a LONG flight home after that game. He was "covering" the receiver on the Hail Mary, covering the receiver on the TD and covering the receiver who caught the two-point conversion....

I received a text from a friend blistering him. He is young, but by the time he leaves BG, I think he could be an all mac performer. I am sure it was a long flight, but as a db he needs to have a short memory. he has the talent to be special.
We recently had another player from BG whose older brother played at Purdue who ended up in the NFL. The younger brother followed suit and ended up being a better pro.
This could be the same scenario.

Without naming names, a poster here made a post calling out a player, without naming names, that he thinks messed up in the bowl game.
Which I think is ridiculous.

I don't think that is what he was saying. Re-read it. The poor kid was probably miserable. The poster said the kid needs to forget what happened because he has a ton of potential.TG1996 wrote:Without naming names, a poster here made a post calling out a player, without naming names, that he thinks messed up in the bowl game.

I was just going more by the "without naming names" then describing four distinct instances involving said mystery player.dstubb wrote:I don't think that is what he was saying. Re-read it.
