His first clas had a ton of kids from Ohio and Michigan crap out....his second class was possibly his best and a lot of those kids stuck....the next class had kids from all over crap out..but most were from Ohio. After that the Florida kids started dropping like flies....2007 was bad...2006 was too...lost two kickers that year from FL....
Darn glad to have Willie Geter on hand though...

Re: New Verbal
I went onto Rivals and looked it up...the notion that Brandon hit FL a lot early is just not true. His first class had one kid from FL (Carson...flamed out). His second class had NO kids from FL. His third class had two..Antonio Smith and Aaron Davis an d they both stuck around for four years.
His 4th class was 2006. Eliis, Rojas, Charles and Kel Davis all washed out. Calvin marshall remains on the team. In 2007 Dodge, Young, Wright and Stanley all washed out eventually leaving only Geter and Hodges. His last class had no kids from FL. So...8 out of the last 11 kids from FL that Brandon signed didn't stick....

I like Clawson's recruiting strategy. BG doesn't need to recruit Florida heavily. Ohio has 150-170 D1A signees per year. Pennsylvania, Michigan and Illinois don't have nearly as many, but still quite a few. Of course, it doesn't hurt to try to get a few guys from outside the region. But the success of the program will depend on Clawson's recruiting in Ohio and other "Midwest" states.

Amen Vdub. Just as BGSUfalcons stated, we need to focus on the midwest and Ohio and Clawsons already on top of it. Coach Brandon made this team faster but were a little too small. We need to add some extra beef to the line and pad up our big guys. The cornfed kids of the Midwest will definitely do that for us.
