TROY

Post by Trojan Delta Chi »

Hello all!

It is good to speak with everyone again, it's been a year since I last visited.

I want to welcome every single one of you to Troy, I hope many will attend the game. We are very tailgate oriented inside the Walls, so please feel free to set up your station anywhere you can find a parking spot. I'll warn you though, the main drag will be covered in Cardinal, so you may want to move down the road just a bit for your orange.

You will find the people polite and cheerful for the most part. We love our Trojan football and that really shows in our game day atmosphere. If you like, any visitors who don't bring their own food are welcome to come and have a beer and a Larrydog with my wife and I. We'll have the fire going and a radio with the pregame on all morning.

One of the things you will notice immediately once you get on campus is the ammount of construction going on. Troy is currently building...a LOT. We have a new dining hall going up, the new state of the art basketball arena is under construction, and the business/economics department building is getting a major facelift with a new courtyard in the rear.

Aside from the construction you'll find a quaint sleepy southern town with a delightful Trojan theme. Flowers and shade trees line the sidewalks and large white pillar entry ways give the school a truely Southern charm.

If anyone has any questions whatsoever please feel free to post them here, or come visit our main fan board at http://www.gotroytrojans.com. I post over there as Burn the Horse.

Some good places to eat both before and after the game:

Buffalo's Bar and Grill: Your standard sports bar, similar to a Buffalo Wild Wings but not nearly as big. Lots of televisions and a decent beer selection.
Santa Fa Cattle Company: Steak house
Ruby Tuesday: sit down casual dining
Monarcha's: Mexican

All of these restaraunts are on Hwy 231, which runs down the middle of town. You will see them all as you drive in to the city.
