Not sure if you guys read the Falcon Blog site, but the guy who covers Troy for the Dothan Eagle Newspaper runs a Troy Blog, and posted this earlier.
I do a Q and A each week with a media member of each opponent. Last year, it didn’t work out so well with Bowling Green, but B.J. Fischer, who runs FalconBlog, an excellent Bowling Green blog, helped me out this year. B.J. had e-mailed me some questions earlier this week and he returned the favor for me.
1. The outlook I’ve seen about Bowling Green for this year isn’t too optimistic. Why is that?
Well, I would say there are two reasons—a popular one and a real one. The popular one is that the offensive passing combo of Tyler Sheehan and Freddie Barnes graduated, along with considerable parts of the line. And while that certainly makes our job more difficult, I believe our WRs will be stronger this year (certainly deeper) and we will have an adequate QB. The real losses for the team can on defense, and it wasn’t that strong to start with. Our players are talented but inexperienced.
To illustrate how young we are, 15 of the players on our 2-deep are freshman. In only his second season, Clawson recruits take 17 places on the 2-deep
