BG - UM set for noon kickoff

Post by gmartin »

I did not see this posted yet but the BG - UM game is slated for a noon start. The game will be broadcasted nationally on ESPN or ESPN2. Hope we can keep Robinson under 300 yards RUSHING.

I think if we take it to Marshall we could show Michigan whats up...We are not as bad as our record boasts. Colin Cowherd said it well Notre Dame is Purdue with a bigger budget...

I think BG will be facing Michigan at a good time. They faced two teams that may have been overrated this year and this week they take on Umass. Michigan will be thinking of BG in regards of an easy win and everytime a team does that things can go bad. Example, app state and Terdledo. I think we do have a chance against Michigan but we have to start strong right out of the gates.

Well...since Michigan plays a speed game, I don't think we'll have to worry about injuries piling up like they did when we played more physical OOC games with people like Boston College or MSU.. Best bet defensively is to stay in your lanes and make Robinson throw it around a little. On offense, I think we'll be able to run on them a bit, so we could chew the clock and shorten the game a little

Not a fan of the noon kickoff...

Michigan's secondary is really bad, so I like our O vs. their D if our line can hold up a little. Hopefully Bojicic will be back. If he is, we should be able to score a little.

Their offense is going to murder us. We've never defended the read option or running QBs well, and Robinson is going as good as any running QB in the last few years right now.

If Michigan puts up less than 40, it will be due to turnovers or them taking their foot off the gas. They'll be favored by at least 3 TDs, probably 4, and they should be.

I agree about Robinson, but I also think Michigan will not 'overexpose" him running the ball against us, and increasing the injury risk. At least that will be their plan until we go up a couple TD's against them!

I think UM is hoping to get some serious reps for Gardner and Forcier...

... Or establishing a running game from someone other than Robinson. Robinson ranks #30 in total TEAM offense. He alone is averaging 140 more yards per game than our entire offense.

As a BG and Michigan fan, I'm excited about what D.Rob brings to the games this year. My only question is, why couldn't we have played Michigan 3 years ago....

With the way Robinson is playing, I'd love a win, but I'm not expecting much like I was with Pitt, MSU or BC, hell even OSU in the previous years...

Getting back to the starting time??? I thought the game would be a 12:00 start. If it were to start at 3:30 then Michigan would need to bring in lights. They do not have lights at their stadium and they bring in temporary lighting for their games. I couldn't see the university paying for lighting in this game. But UM is getting lights installed later this year so you may see more late afternoon or night games played at the Big House.

Since I will be watching from home, I don't mind the noon kickoff. Will give me time to drive to BG and welcome the team back after the BiG win. :-D
