So here is what I got for next year. (Before you say enjoy this year I apologize, I know its early but this is basically a psychological tic for me. I get bored or anxious and this is what I do..LOL.) Here is how I see things as shaping up. Would love your input.
(Please ignore the years or just add 1)
On Offense: Things will be fine. The entire OL will return, Shilz will progress, Jeter I think will be adequately replaced by Hopgood and the WRs should be studs. We will open up the Offense a little with Schilz in his second year.
On Defense I expect some good things from the LB corps and DT, elsewhere I have question marks. BooBoo Gates I think will be a stud as the ROVER next to Woods. I remember really liking Swans recruiting video. Part of me thinks it would be interesting to throw Campbell at DE (where I have no idea who will play there) and having those 3 guys eat up blockers so Gates and Woods can run. The true Frosh who have played so far are Beck, Gates, Flewellyn (probably the next draft center after Bojicic) and Foster. We have alot of guys back in the DBfield but I am not sure if they are worth anything.
STs: ?
Areas of extreme need seem to be DE and ST's

Jeter has lost some range and he definitely fought a year long slump but I don't see a football player from BG taking over as the captain of the Yankees anytime soon. Hopgood has a better shot at becoming the feature back replacing Willie Geter at BG.

We are in serious need of some size on our d-line. We get very little pressure on opposing QB's. I think some larger linemen would help gum up the trenches and make it a heck of a lot tougher to run. Aren't there any big corn fed midwestern linemen coming through the h.s. ranks anymore?

I expect Jordan Roussos to switch back to D Line next year. He's playing there because of injuries and because he plays so hard. He (6-4, 294) and Chris Jones (6-2, 290) as DTs should be very good with time.falconfan1999 wrote:We are in serious need of some size on our d-line. We get very little pressure on opposing QB's. ...OR this will be just like Blackneys last seasons a few ups with way more downs.
PErsonally I believe it takes 4 years for a new coach to establish the system. So is it safe under that pretense to say, "we havent seen any thing yet?"
ITs a bad season thus, far but it can turn a round and some wins can come. One game at a time.
