We all did pretty well this past week. I've included winning percentages in this week too. Heads up ... the schedule is about to include a lot of non weekend games. I'm going to stick with putting the weekly predictions page up on Thursday. It will include games from Friday to the next Thursday. So, that means in some cases we'll need to get predictions in quickly because there will be a one day notice for Friday games. But, I think that shouldn't be a problem. If anybody prefers, though, I can put the predictions page up Thurdsay and have it run Saturday to Friday so we all have two days to get predictions up. If anyone prefers that, let me know and I can accommodate. No Friday games this week so it's not an issue right now.
All 13 teams play on Saturday, and Buffalo and Ohio play in a week. Here's the matchups for this week:
Saturday
Northern Illinois at Western Michigan, 12:00 pm
Akron at Temple, 1:00 pm
LA Lafayette at Ohio, 2:00 pm
Miami at Buffalo, 3:30 pm
Ball State at Kent State, 3:30 pm
Bowling Green at Central Michigan, 3:30 pm
Toledo at Eastern Michigan, 4:00 pm
Thursday November 4
Buffalo at Ohio, 7:30 pm
And my picks ...
NIU at WMU. Winner: NIU. WMU can make things interesting, but NIU is just playing too well to be beaten.
Akron at Temple. Winner: Temple. No contest here.
ULL at Ohio. Winner: Ohio. OU has come on strong recently and I expect them to continue rolling.
Miami at UB. Winner: Miami. UB is just not very good, and Miami is pissed after last week. And Miami is surprisingly good ...
BSU at Kent. Winner: Kent. Kent is way better than their record.
BG at CMU. Winner: BG. CMU has a barely better record than us, and that includes beating Hampton. Like us, they went down to the wire at Temple, and like us, they lost to a really bad MAC team (BSU). After our lopsided loss to Ohio a few weeks ago, we came out very strong against Temple. After last week's lopsided loss, I expect us to come out with a vengeance. BG in a good game.
UT at EMU. Winner: EMU. This is a chance for me to look really really dumb, but I'm going for an upset. Don't say it too loud, but EMU has not played that bad recently. Their loss at UVa was largely on a few big plays. Toledo has had problems getting started fast and had to rally from 17 down to beat BSU. I say EMU comes out emotionally very strong, takes a lead, and holds off UT!
UB at Ohio. Winner: Ohio. Both teams will be coming off short prep times. Solich will have OU ready.
Good luck everyone!

Good news, Mark. Five EMU players were just suspended including three starters, the leading tackler and the backup tailback. We'll proably still lose but we might make it close this way!MarkL wrote:Up to week 8, here's the totals:

Re: Week 9 MAC Predictions
NIU: Class of the MAC by far.
Temple: Akron is a town of losers, right Lebron? (Sorry if anyone is from Akron who might be offended. I still don't like Lebron.)
OU: They seem to have turned it around, and teams from Louisiana suck, unless you're LSU.
Miami: The coin landed ass side up (tails), and so I pick Miami.
Kent St.: Josh Cribbs number is being retired, and they make the All-Pro proud.
CMU: BG is not good. We are like, "Black stuff that comes out of the toilet." I hope I am wrong.
slUTs: EMU is in a world of hurt. When will that program decide to pack it up and end its pitiful existence?
Thurs. Nov. 4
OU: OU wins and Frank the Tank can party all weekend.

Re: Week 9 MAC Predictions
Northern Illinois at Western Michigan - Northern Illinois - For some reason I'm sensing a possible upset here, but NIU has been very strong.
Akron at Temple - Temple - Don't really have to explain this one, Akron is the worst team in all of I-A.
LA Lafayette at Ohio, 2:00 pm - Ohio - Haha, bringing the Ragin Cajuns to play in the cold weather of Athens. Ohio big.
Miami at Buffalo, 3:30 pm - Miami - Redhawks got spanked last week, but they bounce back against a horrible Buffalo team.
Ball State at Kent State, 3:30 pm - Kent State - Probably the one tough game of the week to call, I like the Flashes at home.
Bowling Green at Central Michigan, 3:30 pm - Central Michigan - It's been tough for the Chips, but even tougher for the Falcons. Chips win it.
Toledo at Eastern Michigan, 4:00 pm - Toledo - Anybody picking EMU is doing so simply out of spite for UT. Rockets big.
Thursday November 4
Buffalo at Ohio, 7:30 pm - Ohio - Ohio rolls at home against the Bulls.
