It's been tough watching the O this year. I think a lot of it has to do with all the injuries and shuffling of players on the O Line. We haven't been able to build any real chemistry there. We've had 3 guys play Center so far this season (Ben B, Nick T and Scott L). It's tough when you have so many different lineups. Schilz is still a Freshman and making mistakes but he will get better. He seems to have a lot of talent and just needs to keep working.
Everyone knew this was gonna be a rebuilding year. Hell I didn't want to accept that but with everyone we lost from last year and only 7 starters back? BG has really played 3 ugly games (UM, OU and Kent...and UB but somehow we had a chance to win on the last play). Every other game has been competitive. Look at the road games this year: Troy (Sun Belt Champs), Tulsa, UM, Ohio, Temple (OU and Temple were Co East Champs), CMU (MAC Champs) and tsun.
It WILL get better sooner than later. If you look at Clawson's bio, usually his teams struggle in his first year and then increase the wins by 3-4 a year. Last yr, BG overachieved and we had a much more veteran team
I am just so tired of losing to MU...Damn, why can't we string back to back wins against them? That team isn't that good. Oh well....need to take out a whole year of frustration next Wed night.
