footballguy51: Where have you been all my life? Is 51 your IQ? What is there to comment on? What i saw were players missing tackles, missed route, O-line no improvement. ect ect Same old Clawson interview. Very little improvement over last year. Don't forget Bowling Green Football was ranked 115 out of 118 teams last year. How far do we need to come to win more game? We are not even close. It will get very bad come Sept. I wanted to let it go, but you loosers keep pulling me back in. Nice crowd at the spring game? How many 50-75 people, ya that will work. With SB5 about to happen. Bg should spend the tax dollar on something their good at and leave the football to the real players and real men. I have a good friend at WVU and they are thinking of getting out of the contract. Beating BG by 45 means nothing. Spending 60,000 to get beat up in Idaho makes no sense either. Nobody has take my offer 3-1 on a 3-9 season. BG pretenders stop kidding yourself. Clawson does not have the goods. You will not win with this guy. Now be good little pretenders and get back to south park

Back to the topic at hand
Just noticed something ... Micky Wagner, DL for the 2s, had 4 sacks! I don't think he's seen any playing time in his years, and he's a senior this year. I really, really hope he gets in some this year and has a good season as that would be a great story. I think he is a walk on.
Quick notes on the four sacks to keep in mind ... one, even tapping the QB counts as a sack in the spring game, and two, he was going up against the backup O line. But still ... that is quite dominant.

FWIW ... Diryal Briggs entered the draft at 6'3, 242 pounds. As I recall, Wagner was the speedy end that was getting in Schilz's face consistently. He had speed pretty similar to Briggs. Man, I hope Friday night was not just a fluke for Wagner and he starts all season and makes Briggs-like plays. Briggs absolutely destroyed the Pittsburgh offensive line back in 08 ... I think that QB sure remembers what #99 running at him looks like. If Wagner can somehow capture that .... wow. With him there and Jones plugging up the middle, this D line could surprise some people.

I'm not sure how you can draw any conclusions about Schilz' "toughness" in a game that's basically one hand tap for the QB's. I've watched most of the first half. I think bth need to be quicker on their reads. Our offense sucks when the QB doesn't get the ball out. I agree tht Hurley might be the better option in the long run...he has a nice arm, decent mobility and good size. His problems seemed to be related to a lack of experience in game situations. Schilz was a bit of a disappointment. I think a guy who's in his 3rd year in the program should be a little crisper and show more command of the offense.
I think Morgan is going to be a very good LB for us...obviously he's a bit undersized, but he's very quick and active.
I thought the tackling was improved over last year...I thought the DBs were doing a much better job of wrapping up the WR's and limiting the YAC

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
