"Bowling Green will fire coach Dave Clawson after a fast non-conference start in September descends into a month-long losing streak in October and November. "

I don"t enjoy reading negative things about falcon football. Any coach who comes into a program and treats player the way Clawson did is not a winner on or off the field. Far to many good players and coach's have left the program and when Clawson get fired what shape will he leave the program and how long will it take to get back on top? Just win baby

Name one "good" player that left after Clawson came on board.....

Clawson isn't going anywhere..the author of that analysis clearly doesn't understand why Brandon got canned...until after the 2012 season

Flipper>Coach Clawson>.............infinty>Birdman.
I like this BGSU community, I like BGSU Falcon Football, my degree is more important to me than football or people hired to perform a job even if representing this University. I like the fact that Coach Clawson appears to be putting more emphasis on academics, if Brandon had seen fit to do the same he would probably still be the head coach at BGSU. Coach Brandon pissed his chance at being head coach away when he consistently threw (for birdman through) everybody from the people in the stands to the players on the field under the bus, and he even blamed the weather on occasion (in Northwest Ohio?). Maybe the student athletes that Coach Clawson "let go/kicked out of the program" where asked to do too much and could not compete at the level that the coach expected.
I remember two payers that rose to the occasion and embraced the ideals that Coach Clawson tried to bring forth in his first year at BG, they put in extra effort and had a record setting year. Any ideas Birdman? This coach may have some shortcomings but I believe his model of a student athlete is more inline with alot more alumnae than just me. So Birdman as someone wiser than me said sometime ago... Fly away.

Lets make Clawson a teacher since he does such a great job off the field. To bad his classroom is the football field and going to his class doesn't teach you much. I'm sorry you learn how to be the worst in what you do. That looks real good on a resume. He was hired to win and the one's who hired him need to be held accountable.

Has anybody read the ESPN insider analysis of BG football? I read it rather quickly, as I was short on time, but something struck me. Other than how bad we were last year, and we still will be a rather young team, they had difficulty articulating why our team will not be many times better next year.

There are still concerns with our O-line voiced by the offensive coordinator. Something tells me they have a plan in place. Beyond that, it sounds like the offense has plenty of skill position players.

The special teams may only be marginally better, but our only real problem on special teams is finding a lights out kicker.

What really struck me was the analysis of the defense. They cited the depressing stats of our defense last year, but then went on to praise the players of every component. Our d-line and linebackers are supposedly jacked, and the secondary is loaded with talent. They also cited some positive stats from our defense, such as the number of sacks (I didn't see if they listed the interceptions). For me, this once again galvanizes my theory that a huge part of our problems on defense was the amount of time they were on the field, but I digress.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this year, and I seriously doubt that Clawson is in the hot-seat.
