On a recent post you said if I was that good in football why am I not a player? Well I am a current player on the roster and have seen 32 of my former friend be run off or leave the team in the lost two years. Why would so many player leave a program? I have said along that the players will not play for this man or his staff. I am saying this at the beginning of the season not an afterthought. When he is fired I will come forward and the board will understand. It's not easy staying on the team but I have no other option. Losing on and off the field is not something I look forward to. Many of the former player have mixed emotions on attending home games. Most of the team doesn't buy into what Clawson is selling and are have zero respect for him. The season will speak for itself and a few front office personal will be held accountable for the state of the football team. Many boosters are holding back on funds and next year will be start of a new era for falcon football. Don't expect to much except excuses for the failures that will come. I have made the traveling team but playing time will be limited because of the youth movement. That's fine, I will leave BG with and education and and a lot of broken promises by Clawson. These are the facts like them or not. Have to go now to pre game meal and meetings. I do have mixed emotions but I have seem this guy ruin to many of my friends plans on continue to play football. Most would have rather left the program than deal with someone they don't trust. I have two years left and look forward to my senior year. This guy hasn't beat anyone including me. We are not ready to play tonight. remember this post after the game

Re: bgfalcons24
You know this post is hard to ignore.... if true this is my take.
1. It would seem that maybe the young guys will buy into the program and the older players seem jaded by not getting playing time a previous coach promised them.
2. I dont think it is unusual that older players that were recruited by someone else not to like the new guy in town.
3. I worked in higher ed @ BGSU and by what I hear from high ranking people in administration they really like the guy and were THRILLED to have someone other the Brandon
4. If the "young" guys win... player like Birdman will be in the minority ( come to think of it didn't we have a former kicker name birdman or BIGBIRD)
4. I would also guess that you got close to Beckman while he was at BGSU and you and the other player were very upset when he didnt get the job.
5. The last comment I will make to you is this.... you say you are not prepared never forget that a coach only takes you so far your preparation or lack there of is a direct result of your desire to win. I sure hope that if what you say is true that you play for the F'ing school on your chest rather then whine about the coach. The only thing that you are doing by putting all this stuff on the board if proving Clawson correct in his assessment of you. It shows a lot of immaturity to come on a FAN BOARD and rail your current coach and players. Maybe instead of being on here you should be watching film and working on your game... maybe that is why you are not playing... I have had a lot of horrible coaches in my life time guys I HATE but if you are a true competitor when you buckle on that chinstrap you lay it all on the line no matter who has the headset on... if not you dont belong on the field.... Birdman you need to man up and play for YOURSELF if that is how you feel.

You may want to stay in school.
Re: bgfalcons24
technically, he didn't say 32 players left.Flipper wrote:32 players left the program? Really...who are those 32 players?
he said:
"have seen 32 of my former friend (singular) be run off or leave the team in the lost (?) two years"
i interpreted it that he saw 32 versions of the same friend being run off or leave the team during a certain period of two years that have since been lost in the sands of time.
for me, that was my sophomore and junior year. those were great times... or so i've been told.

Re: bgfalcons24
Like everyone else on here , I seriously doubt that you are a player on the team. However by the slight chance that you are I will chime in. So your on full scholarship at BG and you made the travel team and your way of getting ready is to post on the message board about how the team is not ready? You are stealing money right now if u are on scholarship. Clawson wants to win and he wants people who are committed . Perhaps you an your 32 friends are just not willing to make the commitment. Your post shows that you could care less about the game or playing so why bash clawson. Fact is before clawson most of the team was more interested in partying and getting into trouble than it was winning and working hard.. So let's hope your not actually playing tonight because If u are you are letting your teammates down . There will be plenty of guys laying it all on the line tonight and your not one of them

I curious to what donors are holding back. Seems that the Sebo Center was built with donations. New field turf was put in through donations. I'm just wondering what donor would actually take the time to talk to an illiterate about what they are going to do with their money.

1. Everybody knows birdman is not a player on the team. He's made this crap up before. It's all B.S. Birdman is a UT fan in a sad, pathetic attempt to scare recruits away from BG by posting made up trash about the program here and acting like he's in the know. Nobody's buying it, birdman. Nobody. At. All. Go away.
2. PCBGSU was banned in the 2008 season for starting up threads calling out posters individually. We don't do this here. PCBGSU was banned for it. High time birdman gets banned for it.
Go Falcons!! Kickoff in under 20!

Re: bgfalcons24
First of all, let's back things up a bit. Let's be clear here. My post, which I believe was in the Pick the MAC games thread, was the following:
"Hey birdman, if you're so smart about college football, you really should play." ~ as in, play by picking the MAC games each week. Perhaps for you and your apparent lack of critical reading skills I should have been more clear, but I was not referring to you actually playing on the field in a collegiate football setting. Lord knows you're most likely not cut out for that anyway.
As for the rest of the gibbirish and garbage you spewed out beyond your initial calling me out, I'll just say this. Bowling Green did not have a good year in 2010. That's a fact. But what is also a fact is that it was only our second losing season in a decade. What's also a fact is that our team has adequate talent to compete in the mid-american conference, and like it or not, Dave Clawson is directly responsible for bringing much of that talent to BGSU. The guy is a man of faith, of family, of integrity, and he does it the right way. Bowling Green's athletic programs have never been on probation, have never been sanctioned for running afoul of the rules, and never will be. Do I think Clawson is infallible? No. Has he had some rather crummy games from a coaching standpoint? Absolutely. But if you look at where this program is now, compared with 2008 under Brandon when we had players breaking into apartments demanding drugs, buying hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise with stolen credit cards, getting poor grades in the classroom, and not playing to their potential on the field, we're a lot better off now.
Want the proof? Bowling Green 32 - Idaho 15. Not even close, game was over in the 2nd quarter. BG came out ready to play, executed well, and came out with a W. Chew on that.
