Post-season salute from a Sooner

Post by GolferJohn »

I wanted to stop by and congratulate the Falcons on a fine year. Before the opening game, I recall there was some question about Jacobs' ability to step in, but he really came through. Of course, next year there will still be some questions about him ... namely, how high he will finish in the Heisman Trophy voting.

Playing Bowling Green helped the Sooners in more than one way. The Falcons were the the most attractive team on OU's non-conference schedule, especially after Oregon was upset in its opener, and your players provided a stern test in Norman. Furthermore, the continued success of the Falcons helped shore up the Sooners' strength of schedule, which paved the way for us get into the National Championship game.

Neither of our teams realized all its goals, but that's the way college football goes. Good luck next year and down the road. With no rematch on the regular season schedule, I guess we have to look toward a Bowl game, and here's hoping it's a good one.

I hope we play again. I'd love to experience Norman on a football Saturday for myself. I've heard such great things. . .
