Wasn't there three players? And wasn't one already in an unfavorable position from last years antics ? Run with trouble and you become trouble.
For everybody thinking it is just a minor issue, do you really know what they were doing? What was the one player caught up in last year? Maybe if you had a daghter or female friend or family member that was at risk , you may think different.
If you knowingly break the rules and disregard others rights, then be prepared to man up a deal with the consequence. Life is all about choices.

At risk of what? It seems wierd to me that the first assumption is that they must have been doing something awful.

I believe that McKnight was "busted" during the summer for underaged drinking...and was given a warning...Clausen's press conference alluded to the fact that the other 2, including Gates, will be subject to "team discipline"... Said something to the effect that their IS a team policy on rule breaking etc. One strike= probation, two strikes....off the team (My interpretation)Oldballcoach61 wrote:Wasn't there three players? No, not assuming anything as being awful, just stupid and unlawful. If unlawful is awful, then yes, awful.
What I am saying is , THEY WERE TRESPASSING. It is an easy process in life called,OBEY the rules and laws of the team and the State of Ohio.
The kid had prior issues last year and the other two decide to take part in his ignorance, then they put themselves in the same position of being scrutinized by others.
Perception is reality. If you are percieved to have no regard for team rules, university policy, and total disregard for others rights and privacy, then you deserve the amount of criticism . Again, every choice in life has a consequence.
These are grown men and are living the life that most young men only get to dream of, playing D1 football, and recieving a quality education on scholarship. So lets not feel to sorry for these little boys that are just out having a little fun.
I have zero sympathy for the three kids, and I would imagine the one has played his last down as a Falcon. And for that, I commend Coach Clawson and the AD.

Wait what? I've broke that rule a million times, hell I lived in my girlfriends dorm for a whole semester. Let the team deal with it, and lets get over it.
6500 miles couldn't stop me from cheering on my Falcons!

I think we all agree that many of us...myself included...have been in dorms we didn't belong in at all hours of the day and night. What's kinda odd in this case is the involvement of the first responders and people being cited.
BTW, since the legal system is involved, this isn't just a team matter....

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: Boo Boo
Leave the players alone here. The issue is being investigated and if Gates is responsible for a more serious infraction, we have seen what Claw will do. As a former RA, events like this can happen and the vast majority of instances are void of any malicious intent.Oldballcoach61 wrote:Wasn't there three players?
