I wish more Falcon fans would come down - the game day atmosphere is totally electric, especially for the first game of the season. Mem Stadium has fantastic atmosphere and when the Pride of Oklahoma forms up and marches south playing OKLAHOMA the whole place goes nuts. Then they stop at midfield, face the stands and play BOOMER SOONER! and after that they march to the south endzone where they will play the BGU fight song for the Bowling Green visitors. We respect our visitors and we are glad you are coming down. Wecome to Oklahoma! and to Oklahoma football!

Our band does this as well. The announcer always says a rousing rendition of the away teams fight song but usually we play it a little slower than normal and sometimes it take the away teams fans a minute to even recognize what it is. You just can't show too much respect to the other team! I do like how bands do that though. It keeps a balance in the atmosphere. (Unless it was the Toledo-BG game last year, where our fans booed the band when we started playing the Toledo fight song )
