•I was very curious to see how coach Tim Beckman would handle sitting in front of the BG banner in the interview room at Perry Stadium postgame. Two years ago after Toledo's loss to the Falcons, he walked in, saw the banner and refused to sit down at the podium and instead forced the media to shuffle over to the corner of the room away from the banner. Yesterday, he had four players stand behind him in front of the banner so that he could conduct his postgame news conference at the podium. Then, like a congo line moving clockwise, after Beckman was done, one of the players came up to the podium and Beckman took his spot in the human shield. Then when that player was done, the next guy up would take his seat and the other guy would move back into the shield, and it followed from there until each Rocket had his turn. Interesting to say the least.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second." ~~USCHO Poster "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got." ~~USCHO Poster, AFTER Tech beat us #NeverGiveUp

For those of you who want him to be our coach, remember stunts like this. I'm all for the rivalry but this is being a sore winner plain and simple. If it were such a big deal have one of the managers pack up the UT backdrop and tape it up. That would have been fine.

Didn't really appreciate them starting their postgame celebration on field while our band was still playing our alma mater. I hope our players and coaches were taking notes and keep this garbage in mind next year.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

One more example of how to be a good winner....or not.

Guess I'm glad I had to leave - if I had been there, I would have been beyond furious. Celebration is fine, but show some respect. It always ticks me off when other teams/fans disrespect the other's Alma Mater.

Awww boo hoo.
I don't think you should be mad at the Toledo players for celebrating a victory over their rivals. Maybe be mad at your team and your own crappy fan base for not even giving a crap about the rivalry anymore. If the rest of the Falcon fan base is anything like the crybabies on this board they view the rivalry with the Miami as more important anyways. Why shouldn't your players feel the same way?
Its like you don't care about the rivalry until Toledo wins and celebrates their victory over you. Thats messed up.
I'm sure you guys buy that now. However, if the shoe were on the other foot and the Falcon players pulled the same thing and Clawson pulled the same thing, you guys would be bitching just as loud - or louder - as what you're seeing here.

Tough talk for a candy ass who takes his own ambulance to football games...then again, if I had to go that dump of a campus over there by Dorr and Detroit...a neighborhood that hosts a nightly bullet in the head festival....I'd probably hedge my bets and take my own meat wagon too.
Beautiful...a couple of loud mouths from Toledo...where every win is celebrated like it's your first and every loss is the fault of someone else..be it the refs, the league, the weatherman, your effeminate fathers or the producers of Disney on Ice. You win like losers and you lose like petulant children....but that's OK. You'll choke in the end, it's what timmy's best at....

Best line of the week.
Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't teach, teach PE.
Better enjoy it now Timmah cuz you are losing a LOT of SR starters next year and BG is gonna clean your clock...if you're still around. I know the BG players will not forget this stuff...
TJ, I give a rat's azz about this rivalry and hate ut with a passion. For you to come on this board once a year and spout off like this? Here's something to chew on...39-33-5. Class has never been a strong characteristic at ut. And speaking of crappy fan bases...I can recall the game at the GB in 2008...you had maybe 10,000 there for Tom's last game and were lucky it was only 38-10.
Ya know, I'm now sorry I rooted for ut to beat O$U. I won't make that mistake again.

See you in the Glass Bowl next year. We'll provide First Aid at the Jambulance for any Falcon who gets a boo boo during their visit to our beautiful, tree-filled campus.
