Yep...and we didn't blame the officials...the league or any BCS conspiracies. We shook hands, paid your team their due and then your team acted like a bunch of JR high kids celebrating their first victory. But that's OK...your season will end in disappointment...it started that way and it will end that way. Timmy's a choker...always has been...always will be...

I don't know the whole situation on the celebrating on the field when the band wasn't done thing, so I won't make judgement on that. But seriously, who gives a rat's arse about Beckman and his players hiding the BG banner during their post game press conference? Seriously? Who cares?
If BG did the same thing at UT I wouldn't give a crap. I mean, why would you?

Re: Beckman
My only issue is the band starting to play before ours finished...so far a the rest of it goes, if you people want to be that childish...go for it.
I made this point on another board and I'll repeat it here. Beckman is no Tom Amstutz...4th and 5 on our 37? fat bastard wouldn't hve punted..he would thrown an 8 yard completion to the TE off a play action and then rammed it down our throats. He coached to win...Beckman coaches not to lose. He left the door open at the 'Cuse nd it cost him. he left the door open against us and we didn't capitalize...this time.

Rf, yeah in the grand scheme of things it doesn't mean much, but you guys like to fashion yourself as the best "program" in the MAC, yet you do these things that a red headed step child would do if he beat his kin in a game of chutes and ladders.
Grow up for a change and act like you are the best in this conference!

I work with someone who has had children in both the UT and BG bands. She will tell you with 100% certainty that the BG music program is 100% class and professionalism while the UT music program is run like a high school extracurricular activity.
That moronic mess they play after every freakin' first down should tell you all you need to know.

I echo that sentiment (of course I am obviously biased). However, I will state as being a professional musician, that UT's halftime show was the best thing they've put on the field in the 5 years I've been around NW Ohio. My first year when we traveled to UT and I heard their show, I stood there in disbelief of how a collegiate marching band could sound and look so bad. But, Saturday, they actually blended well and had good tone (on the field - not in the stands) and marched well.Redwingtom wrote:I work with someone who has had children in both the UT and BG bands. Still light-years away from BG, but I will say they have improved.

Come on Freak. Were you there for every single one of those 39 wins? Anyways, I knew the Falcon really cared about the rivalry. You suckers only played it down because you knew a loss was coming your way this year.Falconfreak90 wrote:TJ, I give a rat's azz about this rivalry and hate ut with a passion. For you to come on this board once a year and spout off like this? Here's something to chew on...39-33-5. Class has never been a strong characteristic at ut. And speaking of crappy fan bases...I can recall the game at the GB in 2008...you had maybe 10,000 there for Tom's last game and were lucky it was only 38-10.
Ya know, I'm now sorry I rooted for ut to beat O$U. I won't make that mistake again.
As far as crappy fanbases go, do we really need to get Coach Brandon in here to talk about the wonderful support his teams always enjoyed when he was at the helm in BG? How many people showed up the week before the Toledo game in 08 on senior night to show their support? I'll bet empty stands looked real good to players like Partridge, Briggs, Dozier to name a few.
Cheer for O$U all you like. I could care less. Unfortunately their are also plenty of Rocket fans who do the same. Of course it does seem like no MAC school has as much support for the Bucks as BG does. Just take a look at the posters on this board!

There were a couple of bands they put on the field in the early 90s which were on par if not a little bit better than Saturday's performance. They had a group of Glassmen in their band if I recall correctly.musicman2343 wrote:I echo that sentiment (of course I am obviously biased). I thought it humorous that they were out of step to their own fight song when marching off the field. But they did sound pretty good on the field from my vantage point.
All in all, they showed pretty well and I would prefer them over Akron or Kent.

Re: Beckman
Where did I say I would root for O$U? I rooted for tsun THIS year for the good of the conference but there are plenty here that did not. And that's cool...Hell I wanted the blimp crash for that game to tell the truth. If you really think I'd root for O$U in any game, you need a dose of reality. F O$U. And most people on this board don't root for O$U. I've seen plenty of Buck$ gear at the glASS Bowl over the years to know you have a lot of folks up there that are O$U backers. I bleed orange and brown and that's it. I rooted for ut this year cuz I also want to see the Buck$ slide into the abyss. And why would it matter if I was at all 39 BG wins or not? What's up with that? I simply stated you trail in the all time series and have for just about the whole time BG and ut have been playing each other. Enjoy this year's win...with all the Sr's you are losing after the season, we're gonna kick your azz for the next couple years. Bank on that.TJRocket wrote:Come on Freak.
