Baseball would be the obvious destination....hockey would be ok, but then you'd have to have a video coordinator during games organizing replays etc. The department can't even handle game presentationis at the Stroh, so that would be a bad fit. At baseball you could have it for player stats and player intros, but that would be a smart common sense decision. More than likely it will end up in anderson so the 5 fans that watch gymnastics can have replays.

Obviously you haven't gone to many baseball games. Anytime the weather is decent there is always around 200. Ive often wondered why they haven't put up a fence and sold tickets for a couple dollars? College baseball is probably the best sport the MAC has in terms of developing pro athletes. There are a lot of really good players that come through BG. You should go to a game....

When was the last time you attended a gymnastics match?

Great crowd last week against CMU and I venture to say even larger tonight against West Virginia. I never knew five people could make Anderson Arena look packed.

I will take a different take. The old videoboard was horrible and washed out from the start. It sucked. I would rather hockey held out for one like the Stroh center has.

And the quality and attitude of this online community is in decline, and has been for years. Even when good things happen.

Thank you for making my point. I have about as much knowledge of baseball attendance as you do about gymnastics attendance. I have been to a few baseball games and had a great time. We have a great facility. For their first home meet, gymnastics had over 400 in Anderson. For their second home meet attendance was right around 500.

Now, the reason I advocate for the board to be relocated to Anderson is because the gymnastics team DOES NOT have a score board. Right now they are using a projector and video screen. Baseball, since you bring it up, has a scoreboard. I am not talking about anything to put up flashy graphics during player introductions. All I want is something that will show the score and look like it belongs at a Division I program.

It's too bad some still support their sports by trying to tear down others. It's just so productive...

Baseball has a scoreboard that can no longer be repaired because it is so old they can't get parts for it. Honestly, I don't even want the "video" board for there, but they do need a new scoreboard. I hear it is about $50,000 to move and hookup the old video board, and you can buy a good regular scoreboard for baseball for less than that. Maybe gymnastics should start a fund raising campaign if they really want it!

You mean hook-up. Since the old board is already dismantled and clearly someplace now. This likely is a waste of time to talk about though. Either it is now in storage at BGSU, or scrapped. For basic, static display, OK, it could do. But I wouldn't want it in the Ice Arena.

Clearly, it should go to the Cross Country teams. Very difficult for any less than fit fans to watch more than a few seconds of a given race. The obvious solution is to have Tour de France style motorcycle camera crews with a live feed to the video board set up at a grandstand near the finish line.

Yes, I think that is definitely the most effective use for the old video board. No question.

WINNER! Seriously, that is a great idea. You could use existing cart paths most of the way andyou woulld need very little new infrastructure. A little creativity would allow it to be positioned so that it could be seen with binoculars from the baseball field as well, so twice the bang for the buck.

It would definitely enhance my meet-day experience.

With its pisspoor resolution and frame rate I think you'd be SADLY disappointed if you did.
