Re: Surprises on the depth chart
Will Watson and Coy Brown hitting the two deep as true freshmen is a bit of a surprise. We return a lot of talent at those spots, so they must have turned some heads at camp. (In Browns case also last spring since he got here in Jan)
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: Surprises on the depth chart
This stood out to me... We only have 2 seniors listed on the entire defensive depth chart. And only 3 on the offensive side. Just three senior starters. I know us here have some high expectations for this season, but dare I say this team could be scary good next season if these guys develop?

Re: Surprises on the depth chart
I'm really excited for this years team. Jones and Woods will be big losses next year. With that said...with almost the entire team back and a VERY manageable schedule, vs Tulsa, 1aa team, road games Indiana and Miss. St., getting Toledo, and OU at home. It could be very special.Warthog wrote:This stood out to me... We only have 2 seniors listed on the entire defensive depth chart. And only 3 on the offensive side. Just three senior starters. Looking at the top performers in the weight room, Jones' school record 665lb squat is impressive...but second on the team? Pettigrew, all 178lbs of him with a squat of 660!
Re: Surprises on the depth chart
I saw that too, Pettigrew in 2nd place and Mays was 5th. Both have been in the program 4 years so I guess it speaks to what can be achieved with hard work. I thought that page was a cool addition to the program.
Re: Surprises on the depth chart
How about Lynch benching 440! Redshirt sophomore @ 1,366. Could break Jones record by the time he's out of here.able1 wrote:Looking at the top performers in the weight room, Jones' school record 665lb squat is impressive...but second on the team? Pettigrew, all 178lbs of him with a squat of 660!
Re: Surprises on the depth chart
Robertson is not one of Clawsons guys. Add another name to the list. That makes it 34 players who got the shaft instead of the coal mine. That's all I want to say about that.
Re: Surprises on the depth chart
Damn. Clawson often talked about how a young team is not as physically strong as a veteran team. Seeing young guys lift like that and knowing they will only improve ... damn.Falcon137 wrote:How about Lynch benching 440! Redshirt sophomore @ 1,366.
