Perhaps I am way too optimistic but that is how it all plays out in my mind. I think the key to this game is to establish a running game. We have to let let Jacobs try and use his feet. If we cannot effectively run we will have a difficult time passing. OU's secondary is nasty. We have to be able to take the pressure of our WR's and be able to move the ball on the ground. I think Jacobs has the speed to keep OU on their toes. I remember Brad Smith gave their D fits two years ago running for nearly 200 yards on them and nearly beating them(a week after we manhandled Mizzou I might add). If they start worrying about his legs he has all kinds of weapons to throw to. I hope he is up to the task. I think this will be a game with several turnovers and the team who takes advantage of ot will win.
There is no way I can see a low scoring game. If our D can hold them under 30 points I will be very optimistic of our chances to win. This is how I see this game going. We sputter in the quarter managing only a couple of first downs and fumbling once. OU scores on there first possesion and gets s FG near the end of the quarter OU 10 BG 0
Our first possesion of the second Q starts with back to back first down completions to Magner. We are able to start running the ball and we get a td pass. OU gets the ball back and gets another a FG. We close the first half by marching down the field once again showing OU that the MAC has some of the best WR's in the nation too. BG 14 OU13
Second half begins with an OU turnover and we get an easy FG. OU gets ball back turns it over again and we get another FG. OU comes out on their next possesion and gets a long TD pass. We get the ball back and throw an int leading to and OU TD. OU 27 BG 20
We start lettting Pope and Jacobs tear up the field in the 4th Q We march down and score a TD with about 8 minutes to go. OU in turn gets the ball back and throws an int leading to a third FG from TO's. On OU's last possesion they are once again picked off and BG is able to run out the clock

Of course it nevers goes like I play it out. But in all fairness to OU, they may have one of the best teams ever this year but at this point it is all on paper. You never know whats going happen with 22 young men until they step on the field and play together. I like the fact that we are playing this game right off the bat. I would much rather face the Sooners in week one than week four or something. I believe in my Falcons and I believe that we got the players to steal a win in the first week of the season. I'm not going say we have to play a perfect game because there is no such thing. We are going make mistakes but hopefully we will bouce back from them.
!09 hours to go. BTW I have been unable to use the internet for quite a while, the new site layout looks and works great

I'm JACKED !!!! for this game!
Kdog, I agree we have every chance to pull one out in Norman. This whole week I have the same feeling I did last year when we played Purdue. There is going to be some magic in the air on Sept. 4, and the Norman people aint going to be to happy about it either. BG 34-OU 31.
Our boys aint goin to back down from this! GO BG!

Yes I had the same feeling last year before going to Purdue. I knew we could win that game. I was not as confident for the OSU game. Not because I didn't think we could beat them but because i thought we might play scared and we did. I hope that they lay it all on the line on saturday. You can only win a game like this by looking straight into opposistion eyes and believing that you can go step for step with them

Falcon fans, It has been a pleasure to read and occasionally post on your board. You have a fine team with a growing reputation, and I don't blame you for being optimistic.
Of course, as a Sooner I am going to disagree with you on the outcome of Saturday's game in Norman., but that is why we let the players decide it on the field.
Let's hope for a hotly contested game, but one free from injury. My wish applies to all players on both teams, but I have one of your members in the front of my mind.
For those of you traveling to Norman, have a safe and pleasant journey. Beginning September 5th, you can add me to the legion of BGSU supporters.

I don't believe we will get much running conventionally against OU due to their speed and size. Omar will need to be able to break containment and run against OU and complete some long passes off of scrambles. They have had trouble with McNeil from A&M and Brad Smith from Missouri running on them but Vincent young from TX ran like crazy against them last year and OU still beat them by 52. Their speed will negate the bubble screens we like to throw. They also play a great deal of cover 2 which has posed problems for us in the past. That said, we will still need to play vertically and get lucky to pull something out. If we turn it over 2 or more times, OU will cover the spread. If OU is on their game it could get ugly early as Owen Field is loud and inhospitable.

You and the other Sooner fans have been great. Every team has a few crazies that won't listen to reason or other fans' views. I, personally, think this OK could be one of the greatest teams EVER. You guys are loaded at every position with All Americans and a returning HT winner. If I was an OK fan, I'd expect perfection this season. OK has every right to be very confident.
BG? We have a solid team, Top 25 IMO. Can we hang with OK? Possibly. If we start turning the ball over, we're done. Period. I agree with the other Sooner fan...OK is no Purdue. Purdue was a great team last yr...but not in OK's league....very few are.
That being said, I can't wait til Saturday. I ordered the game on my dish network and hope the game is injury free as we both have conf races to win.
GO FALCONS!!!!! Less than 96 hours to go....

My biggest concern...
...is that we were shredded not once but TWICE by Miami last year. Once on their turf and once on ours. Big Ben was amazing and White is awesome. Whatever happened last year in our two appearances against the Redhawks, I hope we have them under control. Northwestern gave us all we could handle in the MCB last year, and OK is leaps and bounds above the Wildcats. We are going to have to be switched on, and OU is going to have to have trouble bringing their A game for us to pull the upset. Hopefully a new QB will bring some uncertainty to our game. Go BG!
Although we all seem to have alot of confindence that our Falcons will be somewhat sucessfull at Oklahoma for a variety of reason... I think we are forgeting the one thing that Oklahoma has that we do not and that is size and speed on defense. Now I am not saying that we do not have a great "D" however throughout the last 5 years that I have been watching falcon football we have never seen a defense as quick and big as the sooners ; even Ohio State wasnt even close although I think the flacons will hang around I see it more as a 42-21 game with Bg covering the spread , but the Sooners "D" will be the difference _
This is my frist time posting in a long time but i read almost every day ... I am looking forward to a great season and winning another MAC Championship !

Will Oklahoma win? Most likely.
Will it be a 'blowout'? Possibly.
Will Oklahoma cover? No.
That said I still look forward to seeing a great effort from our Falcons this weekend. We're quickly becoming one of the most respected 'small programs' in the nation and a good showing this weekend will only help that.

Here's my thought...
Yesterday, The Tribe (barely a .500 team) ran all over the Yankees and won 22-0, which is the worst defeat in Yankee history! Cleveland has less talent, less money, and no where near the history or success of the mighty Yanks! Therefore, I see no reason why BG can't squeak one by the mighty Sooners!
I can hope, right???
