Footballscoop reports our new assistant AD for football is Dennis Slutak. He's held a similar role with the Washington Huskies under Steve Sarkisian and with Pete Carroll at USC. He was also the #2 athletic administrator at Syracuse before going into private business. This is a big-time addition.

Sounds great. Does Clawson make the hire or does the Athletic Department?

Excellent question. His title is "Assistant AD for Football/Director of Football Operations." The DFO would seem to report to Clawson (as the previous guy did) while the Assistant AD would report to the AD.

I'm fairly certain this was Clawson's call all the way and it's just a gussied up title to benefit those who hold it salary-wise.
