Looks like Fahn Cooper is gone for good. The OL section says so in the media guide. Damn. We gotta replace both OT's now. I really though Cooper was going to be a great one by the end here.

Losing Cooper is tough...as is losing Maynard. 300lb DT's with that kind of strength don't come along every day. Hoping that signees Rogers and Smith show up here eventually. On film, Smith looked very quick for a 270-280 lb HS kid and Rogers was possibly our highest rated recruit after Coppet

The offense this year feels like its still going to be a work in progress. Obviously the QB position is open with an OR between Schilz and Johnson. OL scares me a lot and makes me concerned we're not going to be able to run the ball as well as last year. This is the year that Schilz, if he starts, needs to take leadership and command the offense every drive. Lots of new faces are going to need that confidence from him.

No doubt the loss of Fahn Cooper is going to sting. It also puts a huge emphasis on the line staying healthy on the edges at OT as Bennett was slated as a backup and is now a first string. It also explains why Rolf was moved to OT. Clawson also started before that Cooper was our best OL talent-wise. It's also sort of strange how we brought in OT Scott Hodges, who was a JUCO All-American, and he never played much at all and decided not to return this year (he had a year of eligibility left). I also remember how OT was a huge concern during the spring game with Montgomery causing lots of pressure. Clawson kept talking about how Schilz didn't have any time in the pocked because of it. Does anyone remember who was lined up across from Montgomery during the spring game?

Another interesting thing I read the other day was in the Blade about Anthon Samuel (https://www.toledoblade.com/BGSU/2013/0 ... ional.html). Maybe I misread something, but it sure sounded like if BG would have held Samuel's scholarship, he wanted and would have returned. Seems odd that Clawson stated he was by far our best RB but didn't hold it for him. Samuel stated in the article that he takes responsibility for how it unfolded, but it sort of struck me as a little odd. But between the two non-eligibility losses of returning starters in Cooper and Samuel, I think Cooper's departure will be harder to fill.

#70, Amir Haywood, DL 6-1 300 pounds from State college PA. Shows as a Fr....maybe a transfer from PSU? Anyone know anything about him?

The transfer from Pitt, Terrel Jackson is not listed but that might be because he has not shown up yet and they can't discuss him or list him.

Here's some tape of Haywood. 6'1 300 is a big AZZ kid in high school.

Totally sucks about Cooper...

OTOH, one guy's mistake is another guy's opportunity. Coach Durkin has some work to do but he'll have the line ready.
