Indiana didn't sting just because it ruins a NIU-type fairytale ride or an undefeated season.
It was the manner in which we lost that was most concerning. For large parts of the game the Indiana offense could have been playing against air. A defense that surrendered 35 to Indiana State and 41 points to Navy surrendered 3 to us after a game where everyone thought we finally turned the corner offensively after an arduous, multi-year rebuilding process and a quarterback switch.
Is this a harbinger, a fluke or something in the middle? The body of evidence over three games is contradictory at best.
