That, along with his 1962 approach to football, are why I've always hated him. He was an admitted cheater at YSU, and there were rumors and stories throughout most of his run at OSU. Yet, still he's publishing books about "Winning the right way". BS...that dude wouldn't know the right way to do things if he had an NCAA Rules committee staple it to his forehead.

Quick thought ... how would Sheier be as a coach? Obviously we have two external candidates in Bajakian and Durkin. I don't know a ton about Sheier other than the special teams play, which has been a real strength for much of the past 5 years. How would he be as the head coach? I have no idea. All I know is our special teams have been head and shoulders above the Brandon years.
On that note, remember who the ST coordinator in that disastrous 2006 season was? DJ Durkin. Now I don't think that should reflect badly upon him seeing as Brandon left special teams out to dry. If anything those results should be pinned on Brandon. Just a quick thought though ...

Special teams coordinator at Stanford with Harbaugh (07-09), special teams coordinator at Florida (10-12). I'm leaning towards it being on Brandon.

I think he's head coaching material. He has a presence and the "it" factor but not the flashy resume of some of the others. Could he be a closer in recruiting? Is his network of contacts in coaching large enough to assemble a great staff? Those would be the questions...

He's active on social media, not a major criteria for a head coach, but he is engaged.

And today he ended practice with the 3s vs 3s and called it the AZZZZ Bowl. Fun idea and could be starting some traditions, even if his tenure is short-lived.
