I wonder how this is going to work given EIU had two WR coaches and a DT and a DL coach. I read somewhere in this thread you can only have a certain amount of assistants.
Somebody has to coach special teams.

Sterlin Gilbert-Offensive Coordinator
Offensive Coordinator and QBs Coach EIU 2012, 2013
Offensive Coordinator and QBs Coach Temple High School 2011
Head Coach San Angelo High School 2008, 2009, 2010
Offensive Coordinator and QBs Coach Cooper High School 2006, 2007
Grad Assistant Houston 2005
QBs coach Springtown HS 2003, 2004

Will have great connections into Texas Football. Curious that he left his alma matter as head coach to be a coordinator somewhere else.

I would be in love with recruiting Texas like we have Florida over the recent past.

Kim McCloud, the defensive coordinator at EIU, is coming to Bowling Green, but it is unknown in what capacity.

It would have been cool if Babers used some of the contacts that he made at Baylor, UCLA, Texas A&M, ect for his staff. Maybe he still will. But it sounds like after offering Monroe, McDaniel and Hunter, he just let everyone from EIU come with him.

I respect babers for bringing his staff with him. Many coaches including clawson forget about the guys who got him where he is. I love that he is regarding his entires staff and shows that he is loyal and believes in his system and coaches..

Interesting that the Charleston, IL newspaper says McCloud is coming , but no mention of the other coaches at EIU, and that was just posted a short time ago.

Clawson's entire staff was from his time at other schools and he took nearly everyone with him it seems.

As I recall it took Clawson a long time to put together his staff in 2008, though clearly the results were good. Babers did this job quickly as he had a complete staff just last week at EIU.

Remember Clawson came from Tennessee after one year as OC. He didn't have a staff to pull from.

Exactly. There's a benefit in hiring a current HC.

Durkin....Prior to his time at Hofstra he spent 11 seasons at the University of Richmond (four years with Clawson, 2004-07), where he was part of four conference championship teams.

Some of the other coaches are new and I don't remember who was initially there.
