This guy seems like a good kid. It's too bad he wanted to be a wolverine.

Yup, but that's the way the recruiting cookie crumbles. I'm willing to wager that the coaches could tell stories like this every year, probably a few stories like this each year, in fact. Kids get an offer, verbally commit, then start looking for a BBD.Tricky_Falcon wrote:I see youre point but losing a kid is losing a kid.
I would wager that the next time a kid turns down a Michigan offer to attend BG will be the first. The same goes for OSU, Oklahoma, USC, Miami(FL), etc.
We have proven in recent years that we can land kids with offers from the Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, Minnesota, WVU's, etc of the world, but I still think we're quite a ways away from landing kids that had offers at places like OSU or UM.
But Boy does he seem like the type of kid we'd love to have. If he's athletic enough to play FB for UM, you have to believe he could've been a terror as a MAC DE.

I agree, I doubt if we have ever gotten a kid that Michigan really wanted. Given the fog around recruiting, I have my doubts about the offers to some of the guys we do get from big schools--I always wonder what really happened and whether the offer didn't get pulled or something. They don't have to tell anyone.hammb wrote:I would wager that the next time a kid turns down a Michigan offer to attend BG will be the first. The same goes for OSU, Oklahoma, USC, Miami(FL), etc.
